Steam wont let me add Destiny to my account.

I Try to add the free version to my account because I bought the Witcher DLC. any help? I need to add the free version to add the cdkey. I click play now and it refreshes with out adding the game to my steam.

I'm in the USA, I know its available here. Very strange issue. I'm on another computer with it but this account wont let me add it to this steam account.

No, its installed on my PC. Logged in on mine trying to add it to his steam account. It legit wont let him add a free version of destiny to his account, both U.S. based accounts.

Very strange. Just made a brand new steam account and giving that account the same issue.

I have to ask again because maybe you misunderstood me, have you tried logging into the other accounts on your pc with destiny 2 installed and have you tried pressing play through the steam library? Regardless of who owns it, it should still appear on the Steam library if its installed and if they can play it then it should automatically add it to the account.

Tried all of the above, Been at steam since 2003. First time seeing this issue. Hoped launching the game through the web browser command would work but no luck to that end. Something must be up on bungies end, seeing errors of missing licenses and such on twitter.

Are you trying to add a friend or something on destiny? Because your problem is kind of confusing

They bought a key for witch queen but steam won't let them play destiny 2 to be able to "own the base game" to be able to use the witch queen key is what I gathered from it.

Okay so I THINK I see what is the problem

1. In your own personal library what do you have for Destiny 2? (If it's showing up at all)

2. If it is showing up, look under DLC and see if Witch Queen is there, if it's there, then you're fine and you may have a broken install.

3. If you have a broken install verify the integrity of the game and that should fix it

4. If however Destiny 2 is NOT showing up, and you bought a DLC for a game you don't own, then we have a more complicated issue

5. On the steam page for Destiny 2, does that BASE Destiny 2 game show up as "in library" if not, then click either "add to cart" play game, etc.

6. For free to play games often times it'll just show up as "play game" and that redirects you to the standard install steps

did you maybe buy a key that is for a locked region that is not yours? (russia for example)?

link your steam to stadia and try running it
