How many free story expansions are there for f2p players?

Tried to google it, but the stupid google keeps saying that paid dlcs like new light, shadowkeep i think and some other one are paid, which i know, but i wanna know which campaigns are free and how long does it take to beat them. If the game will keep me interested i wlll buy the expansions for sure, but now id like to know how many campaigns are free in the game.

There is no "free story expansions" in destiny 2. Bungie removed some of the old dlc campaigns

so you want to tell me there isnt even a little bit of story for free? in 2019 i remember i chose a character and i had so many cutscenes in like.. ruins of a city i think and i do remember there was like a huge invasion coming my way full of ships in the sky or something. EA has som competetion lmao

There are no free campaigns anymore.

Red War, Curse of Osiris and Warmind are all gone that used to be free-to-play (since Steam release).

Best you get as free-to-play player are the first mission of each DLC, if you wanna continue the story, you have to pay for each DLC.

Damn. Who even came up with such system? Thats just so bad.. The game sure would have more success if it had free story just like Warframe for example.

Even one free campaign would be great for f2p, but nothing at all seems like a slap in the face. A big one.

Yeah but making more paid campaigns free is kind of a slap in the face to the people who already paid for them.

One way or the other its still a slap. They shouldnt have done that in the first place. I mean just imagine buying these dlcs with premium currency that you could grind for. First of all people would play the game more, meaning rise of playerbase. Those who wouldnt want to grind would still buy it, but those who wouldnt could just grind their ass off for the dlcs.

After hearing this i want to keep playing it, but i also dont want to. If anything one story expansion SHOULD be free because seeing just one mission from the whole expansion isnt really much.

if destiny did what warframe did it would've died a long time ago. warframe turned to ♥♥♥♥ but is kept alive because it's unique. Destiny is unique in of itself but people would go to other shooters eventually if that was the case

Been playing it for years and enjoying it. There you can either grind the ♥♥♥♥ out of yourself or buy it. Would have worked like a charm in destiny. I still think that one free expansion should be available to everyone. Rise in playerbase and if people would love that expansion they would buy more. One mission is just not enough to know whether is good or not.

Campaigns were never free because they're usually tied to expansions. The amount of effort put into each yearly expansion more than justifies the price tag on it. The reason they don't release free expansions is simply because they can. Destiny is a unique game and so far every single competitor "Anthem, Outriders" etc have completely flopped. Warframe is the only one standing but it's starting to show it's age. And as someone who also religiously played warframe the game has way more ethical issues than Destiny.

I spent around 200 on this game and have gotten 1.6 thousand hours from the game. I will gladly spend more to get the amount of fun I've been getting. If this is an amount you can't spend which is understandable for most people then sadly this game is not for you. Bungie can afford being greedy and they won't ever change that because they have a banger game.

Idk man. What im saying i cant judge whether its good or not without a free sample and one mission just doesnt do it. One free expansion would be enough to show us whether we want to continue with the story or not. Put in a cliffhanger at the end of free expansion for all i care to make people want to buy another, but anything is better than nothing. Those quests u have outside of expansions are just .. well not even quests. its just go there, do this, come back, repeat. I do like to repeat stuff, but quests for f2p players are joke in this game.

Destiny 2 was not made to be a free to play game. What YOU think should be free is rather irrelevant, it's not your IP. For year three, when they moved the game to Steam, all year one content was made free to play for over a year. When year four content was releases, year one content was removed. If you had been around, chances are you might know why, but you weren't and I guess you will assume.

If you actually want to know what you can do without buying in, Mez Koo made a good guide for that. It's up to you, play or not, get expansion/s or not. For me it has been money well spent.

The base game campaign was the Red War, it was removed with the rest of the year one content when Beyond Light (year four content) was released.
