Space magic is what make Destiny 2 fun.
In the past it was maybe 80% gunplay and 20% abilities but less strong abilities. Now it's the other way around but with even more emphasis on abilities and stronger abilities.
It ruined PVE in my opinion, but it is also ruining crucible.
This may shock you, but you can actually still shoot your guns (fps) AND use abilities. Crazy. I know.
Good for them, this isn't an esports title. If you want those generic FPS games, they are out there.
I think this particular season has obviously emphasised melee, which, in first person is a little lacklustre. It's still fun, but I do get your point that on occasion, it feels like the gunplay is taking a backseat.
The flying was also so fun
