yes, i know.
but it makes no sense.
Basically every Deepsight Resonance weapon wich is not listed in the enclave will just give you materials if you attune it. Even if you attune it 2, 3 or 5 times.
I dont get the point. Lets take Funnelweb as example. It drops as Deepsight Resonance Version. You cant craft it tho. Makes sense? No.
Hey, you never got your favorite gun in the game as a god-roll? Take this Deepsight Resonance version of the same gun, but you still cannot craft it if you attune it, even if we throw 5 of them at you :^)
But they did say they will be adding more guns which we will be able to craft in the coming seasons, so there's that.
But knowing bungie, such scenarios will never be the case.
I highly doubt that anything is tracking those.
This would raise the chances to get a god-roll, or just the roll you really want, rather then praying to RNGesus.
Gettin 5x Deepsight Resonance XYZ gun is higher then getting "the perfect roll".

No need to introduce more, with the drop rates as they are it'll take multiple seasons just to craft the ones already there.
That's not true. I just returned to D2 for WQ this week and I already got most of the weapons crafted except one of the weapons from wellspring and thanks to the Legendary Campaign hitting 1550 + was super easy. I even got my Glaive to level 30 just because it has been so fun to use.
That's never going to happen. This is an ARPG. Killing stuff for loot (which has a high degree of randomness to it) is one of the primary carrots of the style of game.
The Relic will allow you to build bunch of weapons that are basically about as good as your average drop. It'll allow you to build a few weapons that are as good as really good drops. And ... maybe ... one or two that are really exceptional.
All while requiring harvesting of materials (which by the way, is a brilliant mechanic from a design perspective), and requiring leveling up those weapons, and requiring really rare mats to get the really exceptional stuff.
The Weapon Crafting Relic is meant as an adjunct to the existing RNG drops, not as a replacement.
lol.
So you tell me what SMG is as good as a Void Funnelweb with Subsistance and Frenzy, you can craft.
Dude, some weapons just are top... and most of the weapons you can craft imo are just flop
I was making a generalization. Of course you can think of specifics that are superior.
I'm just trying to explain where the devs are (probably) trying to position crafted weapons relative to drops. You're the one who wanted to replace drops entirely, I'm just telling you why it won't happen.
