But my issue with it is how much it just sucks the fun out of the strike, like it's hollowed lair levels of bad (actually it's exactly the same thing when you think about it).
They gave Savathun the ability to harness the light, and use it freely to give her guardians the same and even upgraded abilities that human and other race guardians can use, but also skills that are of a certain subclass, but are unseen, tossing multiple small "novabombs" of arc for a warlock style copycat, for example, or dual wielding seeking and deflecting void shields as a titan copycat, and large swords instead of short ranged knifelets when using solar blade barrage as a hunter copycat.
In the reality, The Light and The Force(TM) from StarWars are equal, as the light can be transformed to do what the user wants to do with it. You don't necessarily have to be a void warlock to throw void orbs, and you don't necessarily have to specialise into Solar, to use fire-based attacks.
Lore-wise, you should be able to do exactly that which Savathun did with her light abilities, form them into whatever you want to do with it. And most importantly, use void, solar, arc, freely and without a delay, without a cooldown, without the need to go to a menu, switch classes, and then wait 10 minutes to recharge the ability.
The enemies being able to spam Supers rapidly, especially the Bosses, is what Guardians can do, and always were able to, as they are the definition of a lightbearer.
Bungie for the sake of balancing and because you cannot quite use "mind control" to play the game to actually do what you want, had to choose on a handful of "skills" to pick from, but the point is:
The light is fluid and unstable, and you can do what the hell ever you want to do, with it.
And the enemies having the light, is just nothing short of Bungie seeking new ways to make super hard content, all because there is a 1% of the player population who have absolutely no problem soloing every dungeon, master lost sector, even dual-running certain Raids and such. Just because of a handful clout-chasing supergod streamers who smash on PVP or solo everything on PVE, we have to deal with content like this.
Lore wise, the "stealing of the light" does make as much sense as a Guardian being restricted in their usage of the light. Again. The lightbearer is weaving the threads of the light that were given to him, the LB controls the Light. Not the other way around.
The other WQ strike Birthplace of the Vile has serious perf drops, but that one seems fairly "mechanical bug free" otherwise.
i 100% agree the screeb area is a pisstake
Or how you get spawned at the beginning incase you do die, making you run back all the way if the other 2 players on your fireteam aren't near a checkpoint yet.
But also I want lake of shadows back in the rotation the group I'm with can farm so many ascendant shards out of that one.
