Something is very wrong. Deeply, and I can't believe I didn't notice until now.
Titan's class ability is a shield. Hunter's is a dodge. Yet they bill Titan like a melee class and Hunter like a ranged class when in fact it should be the reverse. How could I have missed this?

I should clarify, I built a stealth-based hunter. That's a melee build. The titan's Rally Barricade is optimized for ranged weapons like Sniper Rifles and Bows, not Sidearms and Shotguns.

Almost like its called "Rally" barricade for your fireteam to "Rally" behind.

Hunters have a dodge that reloads any weapon such as a sniper rifle so what is your point?

Would like to point out that the rally barricade absolutely works wonders for shotguns. I got a friend who plays Titan and his rally barricade most certain makes a very noticeable difference with every shotgun, both pellet and slug, that I've ever used.

Titans charge into people with their shoulder while hunters throw knives from the other side of the room. Titans can use barricades at close range to protect their aggression and Hunters can dodge to reload their long range weapons. Both classes can play either role. Overall though, Titans generally have more melee abilities while Hunter has more ranged abilities, so the billing is accurate.

Titans subclass wise revolve around melee abilities while hunters are more mixed and warlocks are more grenade wise. I feel like its stereotypical that titans are looking to punch everything and hunters are the cowards who retreat to the back instantly when in reality I see more hunters aping and such and titans sitting behind barricades:steammocking:

This guy gets it.

Being behind barricades allows us to stay in the fight longer, since we're not taking unnecessary damage, unlike Hoonters.

Yes it HELPS players with Shotguns, but it's not OPTIMIZED for it. The rally barricade improves stats like accuracy and recoil, something that Shotguns have a lot of, so of course there would be a noticeable difference. However, Shotguns weren't meant to be used at range, so you're better off using a Sniper Rifle anyway, since improving the accuracy of a weapon that relies on accuracy is more helpful than one that doesn't. It would be like if I improved the reload time of a bow. It might help some, but not enough to make a sizable impact on gameplay. (Yes I know the example isn't 1:1, but I don't think I can be more clear.)

Slug shotguns especially benefit from that range boost that the rally barricade provides, and increasing the reload stat on a bow absolutely makes a world of difference for the weapon. The reload is one of the biggest factors that makes the weapon slow, since it affects how long it takes to get a new arrow.
