Please Explain

How I did the Simulation Survival Exo Challenge, and got the insanely hard version with the Anti barrier hobgoblins, and the overall hard to kill vex (I think they were advanced since they had a skull next to their health bar), and then when I get a mod to specifically kill overloaded and anti barrier enemies, it goes to easy mode with no anti barrier or overload enemies, as well as the damaging the boss takes away like a chunk of it's health. Before the boss would barely take a scratch from a rocket launcher now they die to a auto riffle and side arm. Please explain how that is possible, to go from extra hard mode when I do not have the right mod, to easy mode when I have to mod to complete the hard version?

Sounds like the first version was Heroic difficulty. Skull icons on the enemies mean you are heavily underlevelled for it.
The difficulty option can be changed before you launch it, but some quests (like Aspect of Influence) might automatically put you into Heroic, the first time at least.

Yeah I think it put me on heroic first (before I found out how to get the mods) so it was a real struggle beating it but I eventually managed to on heroic mode.

The heroic version only appears for specific quests.

I was doing the Beyond Light, Aspect Of Interference quest (I think it was) so that explains why I got Heroic Mode

because the quest specifically require u to finish it in heroic mode, from what i remember it will require u to finish 2 heroic exo challenge during the whole aspect of xx quests. just find a fireteam and u can speed run it

I was using Stasis solo, which was impossible for me to complete, so I switched to Void, and just ran back and forth from the area and eventually after a long time I beat it
