Destiny 2 is the only game thats getting bad FPS dips all of a sudden and seems like its related to stasis. Like if Im using a stasis subclass and go off with a super. FPS drops from like 120 to like 40-60 and stays there until I close the game

When did it started? I had no problems till yesterday and today. 2080super 2k Win10. After playing 2hours in pvp I catch a fps drops from 130-160 to 100-90 and some drops from 10-20 while im shooting, sometimes I have a staggering like a 1sec freeze. It started after 30min playing today.

I guess need more info from people who got same problems yesterday, for me it looks like destiny problem. I was playing too much in this month 30th pack ya know and have zero critical problems. But yesterday... its remembering me 2017 launch moment there is was a crital bug what decrease you fps over the time and players could fix it by myself - switched to NA servers (was option in battlenet) So if you played Europa server - 30min and you fps was going down to 10-20. And for me what Ive seen yesterday and today looks like same destiny problem - 30min and fps going down

not enough RAM maybe?
Slow disk? might be the reason of stutters when game loading assets into memory.
3060 should be fine to run this game.

I managed to fix my issue, by turning power usage to high and also downloading a new driver, thankyou for the help

Is it just Destiny 2? Becaues if you're getting that bad of a frame rate with a rtx 3060. Are you sure the monitor is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard?
Well, since Beyond Light launched there's been even more frame drop issues. Europa and the Tower have the most drops, but I've had a few in Dares too. The game also gets lag+frame drop issues the more abilities are used+adds on the screen. On top of that, because the game uses P2P as part of the networking, once someone starts lagging in the same lobby as you then you'll likely start lagging+getting frame drop on top of it.

Is your monitor plugged into the GPU? If it is plugged into the motherboard then it's not using the gpu.

Was able to run this at a constant 60fps on mostly highest settings on a gtx 970 when it first came out. Not anymore…Updates to the game have increased the requirements it seems, especially after they implemented battle eye.

Now it seems even with an RTX 2060 it has frame drops on anything above 1080p. Also a quad core cpu used to be able run this game just fine but now it maxes them all out. I wouldn’t recommend anything less than a 6 or 8 core (it’s doable but I wouldn’t recommend for a smooth experience).

Someone mentioned above they have an RX480 and runs good but I had frame issues on a highly clocked, top of the line RX 570 8gig (which is on par roughly to a stock 480) some months back….might have been fixed by now, I’ll have to check on that machine.

Bungie should really update the requirements/recommended specs on the page though. Those specs were good when it first came out but not after all the patches and updates.

Don't forget to check the power options, sometimes it switches back to power saving.
With rtx 3090 and 11700k I can run it mostly 130 fps everywhere on 2k, but this game can't really make it to 144fps, dunno why.

I noticed 30th aniversery enhanced some of the gfx effects, explosions and now it can take a bigger fps impact

What ram do you have (frequency and CL ) and is it in Gear1 or Gear2?

Destiny 2's performance took a nose dive when they introduced BattleEye. Even bungie said it will require more resources from your PC. I have a 9900k and a 3080 and I can't hold 120fps at 4k now. G Sync smooths it out but still. This game shouldn't be nearly that demanding.

what graphic card, what resolution monitor? and are you using windows 10/11?
Nvidia Geoforce RTX 3060, 1920 x 1080 monitor, Windows 10
That's very similar to my system. You should be able to run it well if things work properly. Maybe try checking the options through the Geforce desktop application.

I have I5 4460 - GTX 1070 - 16GB DDR3 RAM
The game before shadow keep was very smooth and the CPU usage was about 70%
after shadow keep the game became power hungry and it maxed my CPU but the game run just fine with no drop frames or stuttering.
But after beyond Light the game become unplayable with every update. right now the tower is forbidden place for me the frames go down to 20 & 15, EDZ, Dreaming city, Dares of eternity, tangle shore, Europa, cosmodrom, some parts of Nessus, 6v6 crucible and sometimes gambit, the game even sometimes freezes and crash.

The game is reaching the end of it cycle for me.
