Have you tried telling your team to use their heavies, instead of whinging about it here Considering Legend doesn't have MM
iv even used primaries through entire events and was able to keep up with everyone else in terms of damage and kills.
if your trying to farm dares though you should absolutely be in legend (or master or whatever the harder version is) with a few other people, with a 3 stack they become trivial with the first section being the hardest due to not having the ammo buff.
TLDR: weapons dont actually matter in regular dares, and hardly matter in the legend version
There are design flaws that still plague this game. Some enemies still teleport too much, some stomp way too much or hard when you're supposed to be close to them, parts of the map/s in dares clearly weren't thought through, etc. "Hey, let's fling you across the map to a spot that you may or may not get to. If you get there then there's a good chance we'll drop ya! Oh, trying to get to the next area? We'll try and trap you at the same spot! Don't forget to bring a sword if you're not a titan!" I really feel like Bungie doesn't test certain things out before launching them.
Edit: Oh, I just realized you're on Legend DoE. Everyone in your fireteam including you are stupid, lmao.
