DMT and Adept weapons
DMT and adept weapons have no place in crucible, they have uniquely high TTK or can outperform similarly classed weapons by a longshot creating an exceptionally unbalanced fight. Please for the love of god stop nerfing things to balance the game, and adding in something that goes against the balance 1 DLC later. Balance these weapons or block them from PvP.

This again?
Neither adept weapons nor DMT are overpowered. A skilled player can easily counter DMT on all ranges.

And i really hate to say it, but if you can't beat them, join them or git gud. In an ideal world PvP caters to all skill levels and creates a level playing field for everyone. But we do not live in an ideal world.
As for Adept weapons, they require a minimum effort to acquire, if they are on the same level as all other weapons, why bother getting them at all?

exactly my point, they arent on the same level, which is why about 40% of the playerbase is using them in PvP. They are very common because they are too good. DMT gives you insane lane control, and I dont want to carry a sniper just to counter it. I miss when you actually saw a spread of weapons because there was some semblance of balance. The issue is they keep releasing new content and not fixing anything. PvP these days is a waste of time because it isnt about skill anymore or movement. Its about what weapons you are using. Iron Banner makes sense due to light level, but beyond modes that take that into account, it shouldnt be based on using overpowered equipment.

Adept weapons are the same as non adept weapons but with +5 range from adept icarus. they're nothing special and they definetly do not have better ttk
They have a place, same as any other weapon. There's no reason to not use them, other than your own arbitrary code of honor.

Adept weapons are great chase items, but they do not give that much of an advantage over their regular version. look at Palindrome; the community agreed god roll is quickdraw rangefinder, with a range boosting barrel like hammer forged or full bore, and a range boosting mag option, like ricochet rounds, high cal.

look at these 2 palindromes, one adept, one not, exact same rolls:

the adept version, which I also slapped on an adept icarus mod just for good measure, only hits half a meter further than the non adept version. the adept doesn't do any extra damage, and gets +3 to stability and handling, which you wouldn't even notice in game. adept weapons are not unbalanced or broken at all.

DMT could do with some slight tuning, it is incredibly strong, but it should give good lane control, because it's a scout rifle, and that's it's particular role in the game. Again I don't think it's broken, and good players will play around it. Putting an adept Pali or DMT in the hands of an average player won't suddenly elevate them to a higher level, and truly good players can use any weapon and quick your ass.

This is like the 5th complaint thread in about a weeks time.

At some point someone has to realize this is a user issue and not a game issue.

I have less of an issue with adepts than I do DMT, the fact that DMT is a 3 shot kill at any range, and is super easy to use at close range due to the catalyst makes it kinda busted. Im sure most of the people in the forum are using it so they dont want it nerfed, and I get that. Im just saying that out of all the things I run into, it is consistently good no matter positioning. there is no downside.

at long range, you'd need to be aiming down sight to get a 3 tap with DMT, as it's hip fire damage fall off and aim assist is a lot shorter. at long range, things like pulses and other scouts can out ttk it because DMT shoots at 120 rpm when ads'ing, so it doesn't completely dominate long lanes and sight lines, a good player with something like Messenger would beat it. it really just needs it's hip fire aim assist brought down and then it would be fine honestly. it's still not as versatile as a handcannon and can't slot icarus grip, which for a lot of high level players is a deal breaker.

That would be a good change, I do agree that using a messenger can often beat it at range, but it just feels way too good up close for a scout. idk

Neither weapon makes someone magically better is just the effort taken to get an adept weapon means that the person using it is just approve that is higher than the average player and can probsbly aim.

I thought I just had a stroke, but seriously do you know how often people get trials carries or GM nightfall carries, having an adept means nothing. DMT is the real root of my complaint.

Either way you still have to aim and the name of the weapon is just an excuse interest of accepting that you lost a duel.

DMT is too good. Been using it in Mayhem all last week and racked up 750+ kills lmao.

The problem resides in the fact it is way too versatile. it is usable anywhere and has great default aim assist. it is fundamentally broken
