Why doesn't bungie do like Halo MCC (Master Chief Collection)?
I think it would be interesting you can choose which expansion to download instead of vaulting. so people could choose which expansions to download and so the game wouldn't force you to download 900gb (example number). So we could even have the red war campaign up to the current contents.

If there's any reason they don't do that I really don't know.

Because that isn't how the game works, there is one persistent live online version of the game that changes over time.

I think it would be interesting to have separate planet instances for each expansion.

example: when we click on mars, instead of jumping straight to the planet map we could choose whether we want to go to mars of the queen witch or mars of warmind

so we could choose which map to play and we would have both existing campaigns and content simultaneously

That doesn't fix the underlying issue of them having to compile the games content for builds, which is one of the reasons they gave to remove content. It wasn't just because of space on disk for console players, it was it taking forever to compile the game which further delayed any bugfixes for things, more than it currently is.

Money. Why let players play old content, when you can force them to BUY new content?

Not even remotely close.

How is making stuff people had to buy free and then removing some of it at a way later date get Bungie money?

Getting rid of something that people would have had to buy otherwise isn't really a good way to make more money.

It is if by removing content, the only way you can continue playing the game is to buy the new content.

I would suggest releasing vaulted content as a separate title or DLC containing CAMPAIGN story with coop functionality only (no MMO). Just so that people can actually understand whats happening when jumping into latest expansion

That's possible in Halo?

The Vaulted content in D2 hasn't had story importance in like years dude.

Yes and no.

Halo MCC is 6 completely separate games so when you install the game it's nothing more than a game launcher that you use to install and play the other games.

Don't buy into the forum made up line that the content was vaulted to keep the files size for the players down. Too large referred to the game being too large to fix. They made big changes to the engine the game runs on, Beyond Light was made from the ground up for it, the rest was broken by the engine changes. They were late releasing Beyond Light as it was, they didn't have the time to fix it all so they lobbed off what they couldn't fix and moved on.

If they could give you a choice of what to install, it would just be there. I would say the old content was as broken as Moxxie's... (Borderlands 2 thing), but the mods would get onto me.

I also find it humorous that so many called the content before Forsaken trash, but as soon as it was removed it was golden.
