Farming Prime Engrams?

All I see are old posts and some dude on YouTube known as... Hectic, with no real insight other than the research into a points/kills system behind it all.

I know Powerfuls are equivalent and I've been getting those, but just wondering about getting Primes.

You don't "farm" prime engram, there is a very small chance that any random legendary engram, such as a world drop or activity completion, turns into a prime engram and then and even smaller chance that said prime engram turns into an exotic engram.
