Can all exotic weapons be random roll exotics?

Because its a terrible idea. Hawkmoon and DMT were the first and people, at the least the majority disliked it. You not only will have to have the weapon to drop but then the roll you want on the rarest item drops in the game.

Bungie said they wont be doing random roll exotics again after the feedback so pretty much ends that conversation I guess.

The alternative apparently being crafted exotics, like the Glaives and the SMG in Witch Queen. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one more crafted exotic every season in Witch Queen.

To be fair, if they're going to start messing with exotics, and utilising the crafting system, it would make more sense for the grinding aspect of the game to make it that you can get cosmetic unlocks via resources. Not everyone wants to pump a massive amount of cash in to getting one or two exotic overhauls, but being able to do X amount of activities to eventually get that one cosmetic you've wanted (or a new one exclusive to crafting) is far more palatable.

Also, how would a random roll even be possible to farm effectively if exotic engrams could then be dropping with dozens of weapons and armour combinations. It'd be nice sure to now and then get a weapon with a new perk, but logistically it's a nightmare farming route, and if we're going the crafting route, and if it requires high end resources like the Osteo and glaives, then it makes the farm a more one sided thing to those comfortable in doing master content, or those willing to wait weeks for one weekly purchase. It would make exotic weapons feel less stable in the meta, and could unbalance a fair amount in builds. We've already seen an exotic helm mess up sunspots, so really, do you want weapon nerfs happening because some are rocking said Sweet Business with explosive rounds, where as the opposition is only able to easily get the normal, and Bungie in normal Bungie fashion then nerfing the perk itself, thus messing up a vault load of weapons? I say leave exotic weapons as is, and maybe just play into the cosmetic front.
