Witherhoard Catalyst Quest is insane

First Step:

Get 50 Thingies - Alright seems fair, fun Weapon, farmed pretty fast.

Second Step:

300 Strikes / Gambits / Crucible Matches - Eh WTF?! Where did you get that Number?!

200 Multikills - Damn high Number, still got it after 2 Hours.

100 PvP Kills - . . . Thanks Bungie i guess?

To be honest i dont know if i just should bury the Quest already. With my really REALLY unlucky Aim for PvP to get Kills with this Thing and not to imagine getting 300 Matches i may as well be farming for the next Months. Thanks Bungie, really appreciate it.

Would be happy if they cut down those Number at least 50%.

Witherhoard is really, really good in PVP for someone who isn't good at it.

Just look at your map, spend time near choke points/doors/tight corridors and fire onto the ground in those places. People will walk into it and die all the damn time. Control is great for this because people are forced to stand in a spot.
If you get into a giht you don't think you can win, fire at your feet. When the inevitable shotgun titan slides his way into you, you'll trade kills.

In the season it came out there were booster's for it's quest progression on the seasonal ranking section. It let you get it done quicker if you noticed. Bungie did that in other seasons as well for weapons in the lime-light.

Just go into momentum with weapons like colony to cheese those kills, you will always have heavy ammo in there if you pick it up each time it spawns (Which happens quite a lot there).

Could use the old mountaintop too in momentum, remember using that for the salvo ornament quest in pvp

salvo is gd for this quest as well,get a bunch of free kills with chain reaction in control

I know it's hard but it is SO worth it, ESPECIALLY if you don't have a good double slug loadout. Witherhoard w/ catalyst and an auto-loading rocket can pump out very competitive dps on bosses and is highly slept on, PLUS it's an ad-clear monster. Honestly planning on running it for Witch Queen if I don't use ignition code & Vex

Seasonal exotic weapon catalysts were designed to be done during their season with a 4x catalyst booster.

As for the number of matches don't push yourself for it, just do the pinnacle gear challenges for 3x strikes, crucible, and gambit on each character and you'll make steady progress. You can also complete synthweave bounties along the way on all your characters.

Or better, make it pve and pvp can be done, like pvp gets faster and pve takes a bit longer thats all. But i think then pvp doesnt get as much people in there anymore.

I was also thinking like no one would play PvP if there's no PvE rewards. But now I think different.

It's sad to see that people who just started this game are being forced to be a prey / a victim role on a PvP activity for their PvE weapon unlock activity to keep play this game. Most of people who don't like PvP because of that they're being forced to play for those reward baits. The starting point of the PvP is not well oriented to have a fun. They should give a strong PvP reward that is not working outside of the PvP activity like a strike or a raid.

Bungie hates their customers, it is just that simple. They only care about youtube & streamers.

not even that hard to complete, its an EXOTIC CATALYST, not a story mission that you can complete in 10 min.

The pvp isnt even that bad its the activity completions for me I have been trying to get the catalyst for Eriana's vow since season of the undying

That's the problem with Bungie, they don't think before they implement the catalysts. I mean you should have 2 choices for any catalysts going forward or for existing ones: either PvE or PvP. I hate doing PvP for catalyst when that gun is going to be outclassed in everyway except for the new exotic linear fusion.

A certain bow comes to mind as being entirely pointless. >_>

You're going into it with the wrong mindset. I JUST finished in not long ago and the key is not focus on just getting that quest done, but to do strikes/Gambit/PvP for more short-term reasons and just let the counter tick up on its own. Just getting Ascendancy and the ornaments should eat up a lot of that bar on its own.
