can we stop with the "platforms of death" levels please?
Like I know these are trying times & really I enjoy like 65-75% of this game being that % of it is good/a first person shooter, but it seems like every 5th mission is nothing but levels that are solely nearly impossible jumping from platform to platform type filler levels, nothing else, where you literally just die, over & over, 483,848,483,848,843,774,738,483,838 times. That's it. Perfect, or die. Repeat.

Like I do understand that devs are likely pressed right now being the pandemic & everything but, I genuinely feel like it may be better on all of us to just leave those levels out all together rather than rush them & have them basically just be filler levels of us dying sometimes 123,456,789,098,765,432 times literally to nothing more than being imperfect human beings. & by all means, please just ignore me & forgive me I guess if I'm the only person who feels like these are unnecessary, life is hard enough as it is right now without having these levels in a first person shooter that have nothing to do with anything in the game at all other than dying over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over to nothing more than being an imperfect human being. I forget it's even a fps.

I myself don't find it to have anything to do with the rest of the game, the game has enough of the jumping around type stuff built into it as it is without including entire levels of nothing more than nearly impossible jumping & dying, over, & over. At the very least I feel like there needs to be less of them, I've only been playing the game for a month or so, & already it's gotten pretty old man, first the one mission, then another, & now again with the hawk gun, where it's like dude if I have to keep doing this type of nearly impossible dying to solely being imperfect, I'll likely not even bother, & its frustrating because I basically never know when these levels will come up so I dont know what stuff to basically likely avoid altogether, cuz these levels of dying trillions of times to just being imperfect are enough to kill the games vibe altogether for me, I legit got all excited that I was to the next section of the missions to get the gun, but, then I find myself at yet another of these jump levels, that are literally like pulling teeth, & all of that looking forward to the gun is gone. Lost to filler expecting nearly impossible perfection from humans in rough times lol.

Why would this one gun be worth even one level like this with what we got going on outside man lol especially if they devs were rushed & for all we know some of the stuff barely works so for all I know Iay not even be why I am having so much trouble with these "here die trillions of time much fun hahaha" levels, it's like I might as well just not bother if its gonna be quick pressed half filler that I have to rush to get just to end up being blindsided by being tired of dying a trillion times to a level that has nothing to do with first person shooters, just, falling & dying to your own being an imperfect human, in a, first person shooter. Why do this to devs or players? Who wants filler like this? Sure it looks great, in between dying to imperfection due to being a human being.

You know there's an entire genre of games based around jumping between platforms, yeah?

This is pretty funny >.>

1. First Person Shooters and Platforming/Parkour is a mix in heaven since forever (It began with rocket jump in Quake or some other arena shooter)
2. Destiny has some jump and run stuff but I can't remember anything inside the hawkmoon quest. If there was any, it was so easy I didn't even recognise it. The only challenging jump and run activity was the zero hour and whisper mission, and mostly because of the harsh timelimit. Sadly gone into the content vault.
3. If anything we need more of this, because shooting stuff isn't enough for an FPS game. Never was.

I guess if you find Destiny's little platforming here and there already hard, I can't reccomend you this game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/779360/Instant_Death/

are you talking about destiny or some other game but you're mistaken it with destiny? if you really think this is "hard" then i assume you've never played any other game besides this one lol

OP, it's not okay to speak in plural. This is your experience, - I enjoy the challenge.

The quest you are talking about is easy, seriously. Just pay attention to detail, there is more than one option to reach your goal. As I said, just look around, there are alternative routes too.

i'm sorry for your experience, generally, "stuff" like that is fun.

I Agree, some of the jumping level are a real pain in the ass...but sometimes while difficult they can be fun when you complete them. The first time i tried the whisper quest it was just death death death, but i got the hang of it.

Same. I barely made it through the jumping puzzle on my first attempt. Managed to get the solo flawless before it was vaulted. Jumping puzzles are fun and a huge part of Destiny IMO.

okay so I might as well not bother playing the game then, thank you for the clarity guys.

after whisper and outbreak were vaulted, genuinely confused as to what difficult platforming levels there actually are in the game right now, 'cos I can't think of any

regardless even just a few filler levels that are solely nothing but this concept is enough for me let alone if the community seems to be implying that they are part of the destiny experience, filler jump death levels, & as i have noted, if so, thanks but no thanks, and thank you guys for helping me understand. mystery solved. I can anticipate more which is boring.

I guess jumping on a 3 foot rock is just too much for some people

Poor Guy, probably never attempted Zero Hour Heroic :)

TLDR - try using titan with strafe lift or hunter with triple jump.

I don't think there are anymore "jumping puzzles" since zero hour and whisper got removed.

OP are you using warlock? I can't think of anymore large jumping sections left in the game besides a few dungeon/raid spots but I suppose if you a warlock then every jump is a jumping puzzle.

i remember the first time i did the riskrunner mission. the jumping bit was hard as hell because i simply did not know when and how to time the jumps.
it honestly took me a solid hour or so with constant falling and repeating.

now a few hours later in the game im laughing at basically every jumping puzzle part.
its so satisfying buzzing around with the different abilities and jumping styles!
