We thought the traveller was dead until it awoke briefly to fry Ghaul. We don't know if its capable of doing anything on its own right now. I think we'll learn a bit more about the traveller and the pyramid ships in the upcoming expansions.

Not sure why the Traveler - a living thing - having a gender is such a wild idea. She's been referred to as female since D1.
Why would a unique specimen even assume a gender.
If there is but one of its kind ... it makes little sense to me.
I think the concept of genders is odd for machines.
In a similiar way, if a human was living among natural numbers where the concept of "being prime" exists it would be odd to tell them the human was prime.
