Why did they get rid of the other planets

ive heard around that there were other planets like mars and titan, does anyone know why they got rid of the other planets?

They removed a lot of content due to them not wanting the game to be like MW and be over an insane amount of hard drive space. Granted that be planets that have no real purpose.

Nothing that makes sense, they had a game with loads of content they had built up over the last 3 years. Now they dont and its a lot more shallow. Maybe they wanted to copy Anthem..

its clear to me, they got rid of it so they can drip feed it back to us in seasonal content, the seasonal stuff always seems weak, 20 quid for basically only 3 rooms. lol im sure its coming back, they wouldnt scrap all those assets. its coming back in seasonal stuff, id put money on it.

Lol, you are clearly new to D2. They removed it to rework on them, they will be added later. And the game is not really shallow, Bungie is going for Quality over quantity and i`m very fine with it. We got more stuff to do now then with those planets. Even though we have less raids, the latest raid is the best of all time lootwise.

There are a lot of different things that could be the reason. Part of it is because these planets being taken away by the darkness has a lot of connections to stasis, Europa, and other things in Beyond Light. It also could be so that the game doesn't take up too much storage, or maybe Bungie has decided to revamp those locations so that they have more activities and are bigger like nessus or the edz. It could also be that this is the beginning of a long story, maybe leading up to the release of the expansion Lightfall. Or it could be for some reason unknown to the players. Whatever it is, don't let it impact you too much and have fun with the things avaliable.

I think a lot of it is gone for good. I reckon the Leviathan will come back and we'll get another Calus focused season at some point though.

I think Mars was the best of the ones that were removed. I think they left the most interesting areas though. If they added an updated version of Venus and the Dreadnought, it would be like a "best of" collection of Destiny areas..

They removed them because the game was already over a hundred gigs and player data showed many of those gigs accounted for very little player playtime.

Crypt is pretty good in terms of farming lmao. Run it on each character, then farm Spoils of Conquest to farm the farm the final chest, so yeah it's one of the best loot wise.
