Why Are You Forcing us to Play Trials for Solstice?
Trials has nothing to do with Solstice of Heros, nor does Solstice of Heros have anything to do with pvp at all.
I understand the need for "challenging" challenges, but going up against cheats and Trials marathoners is just unfair.

Now I know that asking you to make an anticheat is waaayyyyyy too hard, so please just never include Trials in any PUBLIC EVENT again. :)

And for anyone who says that I am wrong, I am not.

This is like asking a casual CoD Zombies speed runner in to play SnD at the highest level.
They would get ♥♥♥♥ on because they lack the play style and game knowledge.

Forcing us to play Trials is also unfair because of PvP Pinnacles: Revoker, Recluse, Mountain Top, Lunas Howl, etc.
I am willing to bet that a new light player will not have any of those, and they will probably be picked last due to the sweaty nature of Trials!

So please, for the sake of the community, fix pvp and Trials, and make them a balanced playing ground before making them a requirement in ANY public event!

Solstice of Heroes celebrates Guardians and their accomplishments.
I can imagine that the return of Saint-14 and the training with Osiris might be considered as such and hence you can draw a line from Solstice to the Trials.

As far as I can tell there are some but not that many cheaters around.
I played a lot of crucible and some Trials recently.
Still, the Trials players happen to be very competitive,
i.e. I do fair well in Elimination but terrible in Trials.

Trials is a pinnacle activity of Destiny hence I think it is unlikely to be ignored until its removal.

I don't think that this will do as justification.

I don't know much about CoD but this sounds about right.

A new light player will not have any Forsaken or beyond exclusive weapon either which might put him or her in an uncomfortable situation in PvE / PvP as well.
While those weapons and armor will be unobtainable the pinnacle weapons can be gathered by any new light player.

Other than that, I don't think that having a pinnacle weapon available is going to make much of a difference for you. The players that have Not Forgotten would do well with any handcannon since they practised them a lot. I am terrible with them, NF would rot in my vault.

I'd bet that any player that does badly in the Trials would not fare significantly better upon receiving the pinnacle weapons. Some would even fare significantly worse.

Fair demand.

because bungie wants to try and bring back trials from the dead. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/662784093301506048/741489047243063316/unknown.png only 10K UNIQUE players touched trials last weekend. Bungie thinks by making it mandatory they can bring relevancy to a DEAD game mode. Which in the end will just frustrate players.
Filipino Enjoyer Aug 7, 2020 @ 7:54pm
Because Bungie doesn't care about their playerbases time.

Im not doing Solstice at all because of trials, period.

Well that's stupid and shortsighted.

Its a new major gamemode in the game. Population for new major game mode goes down. Give incentive to play new major game mode. Don't know what you're expecting here, and really don't know what you mean by "it has nothing to do with solstice". What does then? Only things you personally want to do? Crucible and gambit objectives were in previous solstice of heroes, as well as objectives only a small portion may do, such as doing Shattered Throne with two or less players, or doing the prestige leviathan raid. Don't really see how this is any different. And hey, especially at the start, a lot more people will be doing Trials so there will be a much lower concentration of "cheats and Trials marathoners".

To be honest it's kind of funny that Bungie would put up such a big wall in front of eververse. Like what kind of dumbass point or goal are they trying to prove/accomplish?

A) veterans already not considering getting them because of last year's stunt the solstice armor definitely not going to waste their time to be able to waste their money.

B) the people most likely to throw silver at the game because they don't have time or patience to grind bright dust aren't going to have the time or patience to do trials.

Maybe they'll surprise everyone with anti cheat and freelance matchmaking otherwise why wall off eververse like this.

I don't care enough for a skin for my boots to WIN 7 trial matches, now COMPLTE 7 trial matches, I think I could manage that without considering jumping out a window.
it's like the Triumphs for the Trophy Hall, "complete crucible matches wearing Calus themed armor and weapons" thats nice because if we loose I couldn't care less.

I'm not bothering either because I've been stung twice by this grind .

Last 2 years the armour was rendered obselete 2 weeks after earning it .

I know they say it will be relevant for the next year , when it will be sunset , but at this point I just dont care .

^this

I was wondering where the current event is going on because I found nothing. Now I know why.
Typhord Aug 8, 2020 @ 2:35am
trials requirement is for magnificent (masterworked) armor with white glows. You don't need to upgrade your armor to magnificent set to buy ornaments with elemental glows from eververse, majestic set (legendary set that you can get easily with enough grind in the event) will be enough. I don't think that majority of players wants masterworked armor much more than universal ornaments

And why? It is required, so why is it stupid and shortsighted to not play it at all if you don´t like PvP/trials?
Kay Aug 8, 2020 @ 4:47am
The Trial objective on the boot is to MASTERWORK the boot. Already told myself that I won't be masterworking it since I do not have a team for trials and I'm more on the PVE side of destiny 2. Only thing you will be missing for not doing it is the brighter glow on the boots. That I could careless.

well you could just play get the armour and not do the trials part like that is an option dont pretend it isnt
Yaman Aug 8, 2020 @ 5:02am
Solstice is a solid skip for me just because of the PVP parts and glow cost.
So sick of Bungo trying to get people into their failed PVP modes.
