DLC Price WTF
After all the problems going on in the world, and games being already over priced, you want 80$ for a DLC.

Yeah ok good luck with that one.

thats for the deluxe edition the price of the dlc alone is 40

The DLC is $40.

People spent alot more for osiris, warmind, and forsaken when they were new.

That said this DLC will remove content and nerf a large amount of items. Not the content I would pay for.

CoO and Warmind were priced at 20€ when they released, or 35€ in a bundle. Forsaken was similar though.

Expansion is 40$ seasons are 10$
NightlyOps Jun 21, 2020 @ 11:29pm
IIRC the deluxe edition comes with 4 season passes so 40$ total, the base expansion is 40$ and pre-order bonus that you get right now AND another some pre-order stuff that you will get when the expansion is out. Still a bit pricy..

40 bucks is still way to much for an expansion. You can buy Divinity Original Sin 2 for the same price, probably a much better experience than what Destiny 2 is turning into. Or you could buy several cheaper solo games.

Thats for all the additional goodies you can buy the dlc and all 4 seasons for 60 so it reality it really isnt that much each fall when they release a new expansion it basically turns d2 into a new because of all the stuff they add at launch and over the course of the 4 seasons. They arent forcing you to spend the 80$.

Everyone says it's 40$ but in my region which is on € it's 60€ and deluxe 70€.
So basically dlc cost is at 67$ and deluxe 78$.

It is hideous considering we already pay 10$ for Season Pass and Eververse store cosmetics.
Compared to previous dlc which was left abandoned (Forsaken no powerful-pinacle activities), i'm going to wait for sales.

That's weird, cause for me it's
Beyond light: €39,99
Beyond light+season: €49,99
Beyond light deluxe: €69,99

Beyond Light is between the size of Forsaken and Shadowkeep. We get a new location, new subclasses with new supers, plenty of new weapons, a raid and a bunch mroe content.

70 gbp for deluxe is nothing. I spent 75 gbp on deluxe pre-order of forsaken.

Also, you don't pay for the content that's going away. The content going away is free. We get Cosmodrome and Europa for free to explore, you need DLC to play raid and story and we're getting Vault of Glass later in year 4.

The price of Beyond Light is justified. If you want to see rip offs, go take a look at The Sims and it's DLCs. THAT'S a rip off.

I had to buy every bit of content in this game at full price. $40, or $80 with the next 4 seasons is nothing.

paying for few % story progress sounds Rip off tbh.imagine we just at 5% of the main stories, how much money Bungie can earn just for just realest few % story progress DLC every few years.

I see it as simply market driven. If people aren't paying that much, then they'll either lower the price or go out of business. But if they're rules of acquisition are working in their favor, then people will pay the price they asked for it. I'm not sure complaining about it does anything unless that somehow changes the minds of the people who will pay for it.
HugoTaHell Jun 22, 2020 @ 12:17pm
$60-80 for a dlc exp is nothing these days, games like EVE or WoWS charge ridiculous amounts of $ for individual in game vehicles (nothing but pixels), because people will pay those amounts. If players stopped buying pixels for huge amounts of cash, game co's would lower their prices.
