What he said. The Red War is the original campaign for the game, that every character was required to go through, so it is a good place to start. It sets much of the scene and story for the game. When they made Destiny 2 F2P, they made the campaign optional, but that resulted in lots of people missing it and being confused. Amanda has two other questlines as well, from the first two DLCs that are included in the free version now. Otherwise, just try to follow your New Light quests I guess.
