Destiny 2
What are you meant to do about barriers?
Just finished a lovely strike we had to give up on as we ran out of ammo trying to kill a red shielded enemy that just healed to full before we could burst him down... is there actually a way to do anything about this is or is just a mechanic to stop you having a chance of doing any strike where you can't burst down a mini boss in 3 seconds?

Get an Anti-Barrier Rounds mod from your Seasonal Artifact. It's the bottom left-most item on your Equipment screen.
Try reading the strikes description and modifiers. Trust me, works every time.
Oh thank god theres something, though honestly it'd be better if they just removed the barriers from the game they are just annoying as all hell

And this is why we can't have matchmaking in Raids.

Because they put in crap you need to go to the forum to figure out how to deal with which seemingly only became a thing this season? Ye I know right its ridiculous they'd put something that dumb in the game.

Then again I've not heard great things about bungie so it's kinda no wonder its f2p

Yeah, god forbid you have to help out the community and teach a new player how mechanics work.

You don't need to read forums, the seasonal mod requirements and artifact are right there in plain view for everyone. Do strike or activity and see "champion mods required: barrier" go to your artifact and grab a barrier mod. It also isn't dumb it adds some variety and a literally wall that you have to overcome, if you want dummy strikes with no challenge then stay out of the end game stuff.

Teaching only works if people listen, most people who want raid match making won't listen and only want to be carried.
Meh leave them to it, I mean the only thing they are good at probably is Destiny, if you take that away from them they'll just feel empty inside :(

So you're just hating Bungie now because you can't adapt to a game mechanic?

It's almost like its the devs job to make sure the player knows the mechanics by something other than a hover over icon that blends into the background on a loading screen...

You're probably a bit young for this, but games like Megaman and Mario would teach you with the first few levels by introducing everything bit by bit with the only solution being the new mechanic. I certainly didn't skip the starting mission that explains this seasons mods and what they do in detail which would suggest they just expected you to read the patch notes to get it or google it.

If you're jumping into Ordeals without reading the modifiers, then it's on you. No-one else.

The info is clearly presented, you're the one jumping into content you aren't prepared for.
Should be hard coded, if you dont go with mim of one champ mod(per team) for that Ordeal it wont let your team to start.

Yeah, I remember that. I much rather would have been playing a full game instead of a partial game with an exhaustive tutorial at the start.

If the interwebz had existed in the days of early console gaming that you are referring to, those games would not have had such a long tutorial process either.

Ok, Barrier champions, and Champions in general have been around for three seasons. You have Unstoppable Champions which take an unstoppable mod on your weapons. Barrier Champions take a weapon with the Anti-Barrier mod on them and Overload Champions take a weapon that has the Overload rounds mod. Bungie introduced all of this when Shadowkeep was released, and so far, its made the game far more interesting. They made it f2p when they came over from blizzard. Sure they have made mistakes, all developers do, but they have a skeleton crew working on Destiny in general, a few people working on a new game, and a few other people working on seasons for Destiny and the next DLC. It has to be rough on their end of things and they are really trying their best to please the community in any way they can, only to get ragged on for not doing it the way a handful of people want. I hear non-stop complaining about Bungie as a whole, and yet they have worked hard to bring us a world that they think we would enjoy. Does it seem ridiculous at times with five barrier champions popping out from every add spawn point? Yeah, absolutely. But, have the mods ready and face the challenge they have given us.
