No. Other than DLC content, all of the purchases are cosmetic only and the game doesn't push them on you.

It really does though. Whenever a "new" exotic comes out and you obtain it, you outright get a message on your screen telling you to check out the skin in eververse. Not to mention the game forces you to open bright engrams inside the store in hopes that you see something you want and spend money.

How does the game FORCE you to make purchases? It's your fault for buying bright engrams. You don't have to spend a single cent on Eververse if you don't want to. The only stuff I've spent money on is the big yearly DLC's, and my experience was great.

You never said FORCE? This is about the game trying to push them on you, and it does, very clearly too.

There is definite p2w in the form of the dlcs. People who own the dlc have a good edge against people who dont with all the different exotic weapons and armor they get. I would hardly call this a generous f2p title, especially if youre saying that they dont pressure you into buying the dlc or anything in eververse.

Tell me more about this non-existent edge of yours.

A person who has a set of FREE black armory or menagerie gear is at ZERO disadvantage over someone with pay season weapons. The season mods don't make enough of a difference. New exotics disabled or boring. The season loot tables are actually worse than the old ones which is why they announced weapon retirement at the end of year 3. There's always players looking for old content action so wait times are low. Campaigns, Bounties, Gambit, Strikes, Crucible.....

Free players do just fine.
Sure, ill tell you all about it.

DLC owners have access to mindbenders, TLW, thorn, ace of spades, chaperone, bastion, jotunn, izinagis burden, le monarque, tarrabah, divinity, devils ruin, truth, xenophage, citans ramparts, heart of inmost light, antaeus wards, phoenix cradle, liars handshake, khepris sting, assassins cowl, sixth coyote, the bombardiers, contraverse hold, felwinters helm, getaway artist, geomag stabilizers, chromatic fire, phoenix protocol, and all the middle tree subclasses. There are a lot more legendary weapons that I didnt mention, like dlc raid gear.

Sure, free players can do fine, but dlc owners have an edge. Sorry, but they do no matter how you look at it. Unfortunately I think youre still going to disagree because this game is just perfect

What are you talking about LOL. You said the game forces you to by bright engrams to get what you want. That is incorrect.

Point to where I said "buy bright engrams". Re-read what I said.

I said that when you earn a bright engram, you are forced to open it inside the flashy store. A business practice used to entice people to buy while they are there.

Yeah, it's really bad. In the current meta the season is being completely dominated by weapons you have to pay $0.00 to access and I think that's just way too much to ask. It's crazy! Who has that kind of money!

(If you didn't pick up on the sarcasm, literally none of the exotics that require DLCs are super competitive right now, and of D2's many faults, p2w isn't even close to one of them)

Not super competitive, but TLW, thorn, citans ramparts, and the middle trees are still very good, and divinity, and izinagis are still meta in gambit I believe.

I have almost every exotic and have never seen this message you speak of.
Newer exotics. Ones like the Leviathans Breath, Devils Ruin, and Bastion all had messages pop up upon relogging. This happened to everyone, so either you werent paying attention, or you didnt get the season pass.

The pop-up message was to inform players there was a new exotic quest linked to those weapons. At the end of the message they were like "and if you're interested in ornaments for these new items you can find them in the seasonal section of the eververse store."

Completely innocent and benign. Wasn't forced or in your face about it.
Im not talking about a pop up telling people of the existence of the quest. Im talking about getting the exotic, and upon logging in will prompt a massive pop up saying "Well done on getting the exotic! Why dont you go to the eververse store to buy its ornament?". Thats not innocent and benign at all. That is straight up in your face about it. Stop defending scummy monetization.

I'm going to disagree because there's no advantage. It's that simple.
And im going to disagree with you because there is very clearly an advantage to having Thorn, a barricade you can shoot through, a subclass that gives you walls and possibly the strongest super in the pvp meta, a ranged tractor cannon that uses special ammo, an exotic which makes your smokes give you truesight, the best energy shotgun in the game, the best bow in the game, the best invasion power weapon in the game, a melee exotic which lets you one shot people or erase primevals, etc, etc, etc. You are plain and simply wrong by saying there isnt p2w, there is.
