Do some armour pieces always have less mod sockets than others?
The "A Cloak Called Home" looks pretty good with the rest of my armour, but instead of 1x general armour, 2x item armour and 1x undying sockets, it's just got 1x armour socket for which I have no mods for.

Could it get better sockets if I get it in another drop, or should I just accept it's a crap cloak and use a different one?

Blue armor only has one slot, legendary armor after shadowkeep has 3 slots or a 4th season specific slot.

It's a legendary one and I've only been playing a month or two. I did grab it out of collections, but other cloaks seem to have more mod sockets if I do that.

There are some legacy equipment that hasn't been updated to current systems. For example, you can still get year 1 weapons from certain sources, and they don't have mod slots. That is likely the case for that cloak, it is a legacy armor.

Any non exotic armor pulled out of collections is stuck as 1.0 armor which only gets the one basic slot.

As this guy said, some armor just hasn't been fully updated to 2.0 yet, rendering it less effective overall to use due to the lack of mod slots. One such armor that still bugs me is the Escalation Protocol set that looks awesome on Titans, but just sucks as a set.

Who knows when/if they'll update these armors, but yes OP, some armors are just flat out better than others currently.
Any legendary armor picked up after Shadowkeep is 2.0 including escalation protocol armor.

Right, I actually didn't know that and deleted my post. So you have to re-roll that stuff which sucks because post-collection, it becomes random which armors you get from the chest. Armor 2.0 continues to frustrate.
