Maz, every single hand cannon is a revolver lol
It's because of map design, Mindbender's already got nerfed in a way that nerfed most shotguns and when it better than it was today, precision frame shotguns were strictly better.
Typically, if you got killed with handcannon or a shotgun you got outplayed. The exception here is Spare Rations because of insane aim assist and the 150 archetype defeating the major points of every other handcannon archetype.
Do you have animations disabled or something?
Every one of the hand cannons features a revolving magazine in my game. Some of them even ratchet like old cowboy guns...
Actually, show me any non exotic weapon where the gun parts mean anything, its just space magic where ammo goes it in one way and bullets come out the other.
IDK maybe you just haven't much experience with firearms. It's ok, many don't.
I enjoy the fact that many of the ingame guns, especially TLW, remind me of my Chiappa 50DS. While it's not my favorite for actual tactical shooting, it does fit the hand cannon bill nicely (without being crazy heavy like a lot of full frame .357s and .44s, the heftiness is nice but target acquisition feels sluggish for me compared to a polymer semi)
Exactly, what's the point of running any of the 140 hand canons when the 150s do the same job faster.
Gonna full on disagree. No shotgun needs nerfing more, no special weapon really needs nerfing besides Erentil. Instead, special ammo needs a philosophy change.
That said, I'm aware gun cosmetics such as barrel length does affect range, but you're complaining about an aggressive frame shotgun doing its job. These should be the guns that get the most reliable OHKs.
The issue with shotguns right now is that there's non-aggressive frame shotguns that currently get nearly the same effective performance while having none off the drawbacks associated with the high firing latency of an aggressive framed shotgun - which basically means shotguns need unnerfed in order to fix the core problems Bungie has created.
This could not happen unless the special ammo design philosophy behind the economy is altered to resemble Age of Triumph, with no weapon getting to spawn with free ammo, and players having to pick up ammo from various strategic points on the map - in other words, making the game play like it was originally designed to before the PvP team ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up everything behind Destiny 2 and only half-fixed it.
At the same ranges, because (like shotguns) Bungie instituted a hard cap on the range of handcannons, making the Range stat effectively a targeting assistance stat with some slight enhancements to a weapon's overall precision (I mean precision by the strict definition of precision vs. accuracy).
It's also worth noting that the best sniper rifles are ones with Snapshot Sights and extremely high aim assist.
You're right I don't have experience with firearms but I know enough to know that the Last Word wouldn't operate at all physically through its parts. The gun barrel, cylinder, and hammer don't even line up.
