Raid armor = worthless?

So there are 2 sets of shadowkeep armor (dreambane and kentarch suit for hunter) but since you can only get the kentarch suit from the GoS raid and you can only get loot from a raid once per week, meaning that raid armor is not reasonably farmable... dreambane seems far superior since you can farm better stat rolls. Am I wrong/ missing something? Raids are suppose to be end game, but whats the point in doing them other then pinnacle rewards?

Menagerie isn't a raid. Also I'd bet that the majority of players have at least attempted a raid at some point.

noone said raid gear was better than any other gear. a lot of the time, raid gear drops with higher stat rolls than 90% of the armor drops you get from normal content. plus some of the raid armor looks nicer than the basic ♥♥♥♥♥ armor sets you get.

The game calls raid gear 'end game' while the other set is 'open world' and I am not seeing raid gear drop with stats that are higher then 90% of my open world stuff.... Seems average and since I can only run the raid once a week but can farm all the open world armor I want, I am getting waaaaay better open world rolls. I agree that it looks better but that means jack all if you care about min/maxing your stuff, people don't roll recluse because it looks nice.

It just has a chance of dropping higher stat rolls. You can also get pinnacle drops which drop at 950+. Though armour isn't the only thing to chase from the raids, you have mods and more importantly some very nice weapons.

I found that Iron Banner is better source for armour, though that might not be your cup of tea.

Yea, I suppose pinnacle make them worth running weekly, just wish I had a reason to use 'end game' armor. Also agree the weapons are decent.

Raid armor rolls with higher total stat points meaning dreambane rolls with like 58 whilst a Raid piece can run at 68 without mods (or was it 64? dunno) anyhow, Raid armor can be farmed, weekly and this applies to ALL raid activities, meaning also leviathan raid armor can drop as a high total stat roll so you can farm all curently avialable raids for their armor pick the one with the best stats and be happy and in worst case transmog em.

Raids make communications mandetory, unless you know exactly what to do as shown by the deaf Destiny 2 clans that do raid, however they specialized and use other communications

To OP though, Raid armour has the potential to have higher total stats, that goes for any activity that drops items of power 950+, so Nightfalls and Iron Banner are also good places to farm decent armour drops.

Iron Banner does not require any DLC and Nightfalls are infinitely farmable.

Yeah one thing I don't like about the game is the timed loot system. Other MMOs I've played never quite literally forced me to wait for actual loot like this game does. Raids were just if you had the patience and players to go through more than once at a time.

Raid armor can drop with higher stats, but besides that and bragging rights, the higher stats probably only matter to the people who do said raids.
