The fun of not speed running strikes :D
Since D2 is on steam, i came across a lot of players where it is obvious they are new to the game.
focussing on strike, as i always tend to do, its very clear who the new guys are.
some examples:

infinite forest:

old way: start running, dont look back, and bolt towards the end asap.
new way: bolt off, turn around, and notice the other two players are litirally killing every single mob they come across

forsaken strike:
old way: same deal as infinite forest, but this time use your vehicle to cruise trough the the map, not stopping for nothing

new way: actually taking time to kill some mobs, and here is a fun bit: showing those new guys how to skip certain parts by jumping up. end boss fight was hilarious ( i main an orpheus rig huntard) web the pack, get light orbs galore, and notice the new guys arnt even using their supers :D

hive strikes:

old way: see above

new way: new players getting confused on where to go and running off in the wrong direction, basicly running back towards the start :p

cabal strike:
old way: at one point mount up your vehicle, skip a big part of the ship and speedrun towards the second console to summon the tank, while another player takes the first console. at endboss fight, while the elevator is going up, using rocket launchers to drain some hp, and then melt the boss.

new way: same as above, but actually having to go back towards the first console, while the two new players are shooting the first tank.
at end boss, no melting going on, and actually having to do the mechanics to get rid of the shield so you can damage the boss again...

these are just some examples ive come across since i started playing again today, and here is the thing: i fricking loved every single strike i was in with those new players :D

in all fairness, in the very first strike i did with those guys, the first couple of minutes, i was like: wtf are you noobs doing???? then it became obvious they really were new players, so i stopped trying to usaine bolt my way towards the end boss, and actually pay attention to what they were doing.

in the end, i had more fun with those lads than i had with the vets, whos only objective is to get in, speedrun, get out.

so guys, if you come across some new players: dont speedrun, but try and take some time and actually play together, youll be surprised how "fun" strike can be again when you actually need to do all the mechanics again, instead of just melting the endbosses.

That in itself is a waste of time, when strikes are not hard. I can easily solo strike bosses in 2 shots, so why would I waste 10 minutes looking for another guy when I can just go.

Why play the strikes then? Sounds like it would be boring. It's really not impressive at all when you're overpowered and running ahead of those new people who have bounties. It's more annoying than anything else, the other 2 people can't stand you, and if you want to complete so fast, just find 2 other people like you. It's not that hard. Bragging about your skill to new players isn't an achievement. It's not like we're in awe of you. We're mostly just thinking how pretentious speedrunners are. They're not actually skilled at all, they've just put more hours into the game and have more power, especially if you're able to two shot bosses.

+1 Kris

could not have put it better myself:albedothumbsup:I

Have to wonder why they have a vac ban. And do two shot bosses, not a clever person in reality.

Funny you bring up a 4 year old VAC ban like it means something.

I have no option to solo strikes, blame the game for their lack of subthought

A vac ban is a vac ban, like a cheater will always be a cheater, be it four years ago or one month ago. The fact is you cheated in a game to improve your lack of skill. Its just the way the cookie crumbles.

I mean I would tell you what I got those bans from but you wouldn't even believe me. Shame.

Why would you play a shooting game to shoot things? Its all about the loot!
Mez Koo 25. okt. 2019 kl. 8.06
People have stuff to do and will try to speed through 0/3 strikes.

If you wanna take your time then solo the normal night falls or look for people on lfg discord.

Don't complain about players wanting to run through the strikes, complain to bungie about not having solo strikes.

I do not want to play with people who want to kill literally everything just as much as you don't want me rushing ahead but Bungie forces us together so complain to them, my time is valuable.

Oh and then even if they did solo strikes they people wouldn't play normal strikes and then players would complain about no one playing with them.

The loot is somewhat alright, but not when you continually get the same armour, weapons.

As a new player, it would be nice to learn from a experience D2 player ingame, as vids and guides do not let you experience it first hand, like being in game with a willing player to guide/show you.

Its not about wanting to kill everything, just a few tips on how to be a more competent player, weapon, armour choice etc. People can only learn a very small amount from guides and videos, and its totally different ingame when there is so much going on at once. And it can be quite overwhelming doing these strikes and crucibles if your new to the game.

99% of loot in strikes, hell even the whole game, is auto dismantle.

Slightly unfair of me to judge of the cuff.

i feel comfortable with veterans who have saucy equipment and take out enemies with style.
it gives me confidence to experiment or go leeroy jenkins depending on the situation.

Gotta learn by doing, we've all been there loading up a strike trying to play it how we think it normally would go, but eventually you learn the the triggers and what needs to be killed and what doesn't.

But it would be nice if Bungie put in immunity phases so people can actually see the boss fights, that is the one thing I hate about speed running. I think trying to rush through the strike itself is fine, but killing the boss in 5 seconds is no fun. A lot of people probably don't even realize bosses like Bracus Zhaun or the Warden have phases.

a spectator feature for raids and strikes would be quite nice, even if only for friends

Most bosses DO have immunity phases, but are bypassed with insta-kill tactics.

Or quest requirements...

Finally got the Wendigo GL though, now just to rack up the 1000 odd kills for edgewise ;-;

And to add to the op's post -
My condolences.I do the same with the Strike LMG(edgewise ? Dont know the english name) right now except im smart,go single into a nightfall and just instead of doing the strike i roam around the Map and kill mobs.Took me now like 2 Hours to complete the Solar and LMG kills.

No I'm talking hard immunity like the newer bosses such as Fanatic and Hashladun. All bosses do have "phases" but not all of them have immunity.
