Good dmg+splash, but the ammo could have been slightly higher..... bcoz 13 in mags and about 20 in reserve with machine gun reserve mods is meh!
- Its a fire machine gun so if your hunting edgewise it will work very well :)
- its explosive radius is actually useful and can clean multiple red bars and do serious work to low yellows as well in one shot
- blasts through minors and some majors fairly well
Cons
- very low ammo total. You only get around 13 a clip and 2 or 3 reloads in reserves, meaning you need all the heavy ammo finders to make it work.
- cannot crit. Perhaps the most agregious problem, and it looks like it was designed this way. It CAN crit if target is debuffed with a divinity, teather, or similar.
- very slow rate of fire makes it feel like a giant hand cannon instead of a machinegun.
Summary:
I think its fairly unique and love its explosives but the very limited ammo reserves and the inability to crit is the two factors holding it back the most in my opinion.
Requirements:
- Criticals.
- 4 ammo in Crucible.
- 6 ammo in Gambit.
With this the ammo is fine.
Green ammo instead of Heavy (like with Lion GL)
They should change the model to scout rifle instead of MG
Because the way my brain works - MG = lots of bullets, but having 13 in mag and 29 with 2 reserve mods is ridiculous and not worth it
and ye noise is crap (Thunderlord is better)
Except it takes an exotic and heavy slot which prevent you from using better guns.
Leviathans is also really only good in Gambit but it at least has some extra utility to go along with it for PvE modes. Xeno has nothing going for it and in it's current state is a waste of time to acquire, and I deeply question whoever's over at Bungie that gave it the OK to be designed and released like this.
