Is there anything special I have to do to make him come forward.

I have now been running around the moon for about a week now, and not seen a inch of shadow of him.

Before the quest came up I ran into him regulary.

Now him seemed to have vanished.

Anybody completed the quest and is it worth it, or is there only a 750 pulse rifle in reward?

If this is the Eris weekly quest, then you are meant to find and kill a Trove Guardian, which now spawns on the left side of the Hellmouth, close to the giant hole in it's midst.

After such the quest will lead you to kill Hive with a Relic Sword (the pick-up that drops from Swordbearers for example at the Altar's public event). T'is then that you may return to Eris for a droplet of lore and your reward from the chest at her side. Hope this helps!

The Trove Guardian's location is on a weekly rotation.
This week (for the next 3 hrs and 40 minutes!) he's at Archer's Line. If you enter the zone from Sanctuary, he should spawn near the dome on the right.
