pick headset if thats what you use or microphone if thats what you use
set as default run though the properties tab

Start Arma 3
configure
audio
microphone auto adjust
and if you can't get it to work go back to playing with the Xbox

I know this issue existed in previous versions of Arma. Sometimes people can't hear others over Arma's VON. Can't tell you why though as my experience of it has just been too random for any fault finding.
You never heard what sounds like one person having a conversation with nobody?
A lot of people don't understand that there's multiple channels. Change with period and comma.
