MAR-10 > 1500m lost accuracy after this reach better than a Cyrus
and after you have sniper so M320 > 2300m
M320 have the best accuracy
Lynx > 1900 lost accuracy after this reach
so for me its a MK1 as a Marksmann and a M320 as a Sniper
Seriously, by using the rangefinder thermal bug and AP rounds you can clear our entire towers easily by yourself..
Glad I only play koth servers with moderators kicking the bug using scum.
You only zoom in and out fast using the thermal vision. Its not a massive exploit by any means.
Still, its better than the camping ♥♥♥♥♥ who just sit in a tower all day long.
Back to OP's question, the MXM (6.5mm) is a basic DMR, so you can start out with that. The Mk.18 ABR, Mk.1 EMR and the Rahim are better (7.62mm), but the Rahim only holds 10 rounds per mag, while the MK.18 and Mk.1 EMR holds 20/mag.
I would class the Cyrus to be a DMR as well, despite it using 9.3mm rounds, because it has the ability to go fully automatic. Downside is that it is very heavy, with heavy (and limited) ammo, with it having 10 rounds per mag.
If you want to go the "cheese" route, get the SPMG (.338NM) with a medium-long scope with a backup sight (Kahlia [ironsight backup] or AMS [red dot backup]) and use that. You can be multiple roles at once: sniper/designated marksman, heavy gunner and assault.
