how do you use amraam missiles?
I'm about to throw my keyboard against my monitor. Using these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amraam missiles are impossible. I must be special or something, because I can't figure it out. I'm in my Black Wasp II attempting to target enemy Shikras, so I pull out my amraams, my radar is on, I have them locked on, it even shows so on my radar, so I fire one or two missiles. It's like the radar wasn't even there and I'm just firing blankly. It goes straight ahead and does not attempt to follow the plane. I'm in range and right behind the aircraft, no bank at all, it just goes up slightly, and the missile doesn't follow.

How do you use these missiles? Thanks.

Have you tried pressing the 'T' button?

Like I said, it shows it's locked on, the radar does, the hud does, etc. I pressed T.

Alright, so have you tried turning it on and off again?

(Look up a post-Jets DLC tutorial on YT or something)

I've followed them. I'll look for more but 3 I have tried haven't worked so far. Could be something with the mods I have so I might have to try with a clean game.

Hello

Take time to read this link about the info air missiles info.

If you close at enemy air plane use the bim-9x ,,, look at the info about cone (degrees) how missiles react.

And key T for direct lock at front of you and key R to cycle more targets ( see rader what you lock on that point)
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Amraams are medium range radar guided missles, if you're too close you won't get a good lock.

Try getting some distance around 2km and see if you can a proper lock.
Don't just concern yourself with the "lock target" and identical bindings, but also "next target" or "cycle targets", whatever it's called.

The above user Ken (and whoever else said the same thing) is correct about the range, 2km is about minimum to use them at properly. Although I randomly use them close sometimes if not paying much attention... you can get kills with them out to around 8 km or so.

Nevermind though lol.
