Awesome little free to play title. 100% worth a pick up for those new to VR.

Played with a Meta Quest 2 & Their controllers.

Aesthetics' are awesome, texture detail is stellar only really showing up issues once you're very close and parked up next to a building or on the ground. I don't really ever suffer from motion sickness from VR but i could see this being a great test if you're new to VR and want to see if that's an issue for you before buying into more intense games.

Ton of little AI traffic doing its thing making the world feel more alive. No NPC's although that's not really the focus. Once you slow down or cruise around while sipping on a drink you'll notice a lot of movement and lights from other ships. The City layout is really well thoughtout with streets and it almost makes sense you could drive a car down there if there was a higher LOD. That's not a complaint at all but more an apprecation for the city architecture, the focus was to be driving around the skies in a ship.

Really you get to fly around and you can even escape the city into the distant props. Most games i'd call this a downside but its actually pretty cool there isn't any boundaries and get a look at the optimisation. From the city the distant buildings look great and it actually encouraged me to travel over the water to check it out. I was curious if another city would actually pop up until i came very close to the textures themselves and realized its just a billboard city.

Ship cockpit is stellar, personal highlight for me is the map on the leftmost screen. I found myself trying little stunts, low flying at high speeds and darting between buildings at various angles with the booster. upside down is just a trippy feeling for me in VR, in VR i found myself focusing on that map screen a lot of the time for my "Stuntdriving" to avoid buildings instead of just using the windows of the cockpit itself. Thankfully lights are rather bright and if you're about to go into another airship the lights make it rather obvious even focusing mainly on the map. I felt a confidence in it i hadn't in many games maps as of late so felt i should point that out.

Only complaint i'd give it is it unfortunately has the typical Unreal 4 stutter as new shaders are loaded in. This is an older 2017 F2P game but if the developers had the knowledge (Or tools at the time for that matter) to precompile everything beforehand i'd have been giving this a straight 100.

It's not a title you'll play for hours but you certainly feel immersed in the world for the time you spend and absolutely worth it for one of your first VR experiences at home.

Great game and one i'll probably always keep installed in case i fancy a rainy night in the Aircar. I'd probably have paid at least $5 for this experience, i'd certainly had paid for some more content with DLC. Even though there wasn't any objectives at all besides your own imagination it was a great experience. I'd love a more fleshed out version of this type of game in VR someday.
