Although you can try to reach this AvP 2's Steam Community and get try to get it working upon today's OS through there.
Better not consult with PC gaming wiki + that AVP2 custom launcher, as it's broken, outdated, and no longer supported... What everyone uses is the "MSP" version 2.4 for Aliens vs. Predator 2 and "PH MSP 1.1" for the expansion pack.
The official AvP2 community with over 5,000+ members is right here.

MSP have stretched weapon models in first person view and FPS always drops below 60.
Can't have more than 60 fps in avp2 otherwise animations break
models are not stretched (depends what your res is)
Take this up with the tech-support guys at the discord if you have major problems.
Next msp will fix the fps limit anyway so hang in there! :-)
Cheers
FPS constantly fluctuating between 45 and 50, it's impossible to play normaly. Weapon models are distorted, they look like 4:3 streteched to 16:9, other 3D elements appeared to be fine, but I discarded MSP after the first launch.
With Custom Launcher and dgvoodoo 2 I have none of this problems: constant 60 FPS
with MSAA and every 3D element have correct original proportions.
And what do you mean by "no longer supported"? The latest MSP release for AvP2 is quite old, even two years older, than Custom Launcher. If the OP is not interested in Primal Hunt and multiplayer, I think he should go with what I have suggested.
