this game needs a minimap.
playing in beta and having constantly open up world map just to check if theres a way to move around mountains etc takes time and its not convenient those who gatekeeping by saying adding minimap will ruin game are completely delusional it wont ruin game you wont be needing constantly open up world map and its the convenience if you are up for adding mtx shop instead first think about it what is good for game whats not period.

Same here, opened the map every 5s to see where i'm going too rofl :steamfacepalm: not immersive at all. If they will add it then it should be in the settings to can enable/disable it for those which don't like a minimap, simple as that.

Totally agree. Put it where the chat box is, I don't need to see a huge box of lingo I don't understand.

I rather not, it takes away my attention from the world - an amazing one. And no I did not need to open the map constantly.

Yeah replace the chat with a minimap and just burn the chat with fire.

Could have a minimap feature with a toggle on/off - players who don't like it could just disable it....

I'm glad there isn't a minimap. At first I was a bit bothered by the lack of one because I've been conditioned by mmorpgs over the last 10 years thar are so dumbed down for the least common denominator. But after a hour or so I remembered how nice it was to not have my screen cluttered by 100 things on a mini map and it was refreshing.
Maybe games will finally start going back to the way they was instead of these boring follow the light trail to the next quest or objective.
Heck EQ didn't have a mini map or even a world map. It was from memory only and it's still the best mmorpg I've ever played and still is running today 20 years later.

Everquest was my first MMORPG and I loved it, not saying it was perfect but the hardness of that game was good. In this game I can't believe the amount of kids crying they need mounts in chat. For one it would make the map small and lets face it, we know once this game gets going and the new expansions bring in more territory then they will bring in mounts. This game does remind me of Everquest in some ways. Once fast travel was brought into EQ, it went down hill in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more. I was so bummed by the luclin expansion because not only did it destroy the player to player economy by introducing the bazaar ( we used to gather in EC tunnels to trade before on my server) but it introduced the first fast travel.
After planes of power the game was nothing but a shell of a game. Poor druids and wizards where not needed anymore and the community died off since there was no need to actually speak to anyone anymore except a quick LFG .
NW is still very much a modern mmorpg but without the God awful dungeon finder stuff and unlimited fast travel and flying mounts it does have potential and a bit of that old school vibe.
I'm pleased so far.

you should follow the developer updates and game leaks o,o
Kief Aug 3, 2021 @ 7:04am
Add multiple levels of tracking which decide how far you can "see" things on your mini map.
Sir Vival Aug 3, 2021 @ 7:05am
same here - most of the time i run with map and only switch to game when sounds say fight or character is no longer moving on map xD
Kief Aug 3, 2021 @ 7:06am
Even if they just let us control the transparency of the map it would do wonders.

You can actually see through it if you look hard.

If they add a minimap it won't hurt anything, but for people who have difficulty orienting themselves in the world, open the map, and right click to add a pin where you want to go and walk to the pin.
