Also game was fullpvp during alpha. Will came as no suprise it became a gank feist high level camping low level outside the cities. While im all for full PvP lets be honest there is just not enough dedicated PvP players to sustain dedicated server in the long run.
Been proven by most of the game and even if you look at the succesful PvP games (Albion, Eve Online) they have low population among a genre, MMOs, which also has a lower player population than most other games.
From a business perspective makes no sense. The opt in PvP is a viable option and I have already seen PvPers trying to select specific servers to ensure a more active PvP setting
Developers can make lvl restriction, so players cant kill those who lower 10 lvls, it would be enough to solve this problem.
The don't want to PvP. (Player vs Player)
They want to grief. (Player vs Gatherer)
The rest of them just want to Gatekeep the game.
Very few of these people actually want to fight you in any form of competitive PvP
Then add PvP zones in later areas of the game from 20+ where you can't unflag so people who are scared of PvP are safe in the low level zones. You let people choose to quest flagged or unflagged in the normal quest zones with the PvP zones having the elite farming areas and better resources. Caters to both markets

Cmon man, PvP in New World is not comparable to Albion a full loot, you go into zone and die, I think it's something that will be addressed over time, they will need a mechanic to keep players in place for a long time. The factions are a good start, but they have much work to do.
And no it wont solve anything, Humans are Humans and lvl 60 would gank everyone out of the Game just like in Alpha.
Most Albion players stay in the Yellow Zones which aren't full loot you just get knocked down and pay repairs like NW.
There is only a small subset of players that actually play the red/black zones
Albion would be a much more successful game if they changed it all to yellow but then they would probably do something like make it so you cant repair gear at all so it eventually breaks.
Oh gods my eyes are now bleeding trying to read that. Might I direct you to the naked monkeys beating one another with wooden sticks from alpha that led to the current pvp system? The devs obviously didn't want this game to become rust 2.0
