The chat system is garbage

The chat in this game is garbage at best. I don't feel at all connected when chatting, especially in "Area" chat, and more so in "Group/Party" chat. Why is it all in a completely separate entity, and I have to press ESC twice to back out every single time? Maybe I'm spoiled by WoW's chat system, but it's so simplistic to me I'm not sure why the chat system in this game is nothing but annoying.

Is there a workaround for this?

This UI is as bad as SWOTOR. It’s unbearable to scroll through each tab to see what’s going on and I often miss messages in my company/faction because of it.

Yes, names should appear on the same line and colors are all messed up, white should be local, yellow global, etc, it's confusing.

Yea, it's one of the worst I've experienced. Hopefully some magic can be applied to fix how the chat system/ui is working currently.

Who thought it was a good idea that in order to chat, you need to open up half of your screen to a chat box, and take yourself completely out of the immersiveness of the game, toggle the correct chat, figure it out, and hit ESC TWICE just go get back into the game? You can't even see your own chatbubble for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake.

I'm in utter disbelief there isn't a workaround.

The only thing that bugs me about the chat , is the global chat , when there are people selling in game currency and flog spamming the chat with their advertisement. It clogs my chat and i am not sure if there is a way to disable global off for a time , or not.

To anyone who enjoys the chat UI, i ask you to press ENTER some 30 times in quick succession and try to avoid suffering from a stroke. Okay, harsh, but it's really intrusive and needs to be changed imo.

It is pretty atrocious honestly. I am hoping they add a lighter version, or allow customizing colors, and tabs, etc eventually at least.
