Why not?
Stardew Valley like Romance system / heart events could be really wholesome.
EXACTLY i guess it's really hard to believe that I have a different like!
Anecdotally, romance options are an incredible time expense to add, and when done as an afterthought have more often that not just proved to be an underwhelming annoyance for those who wanted it (either due to the romance content being half-baked, or dialogue still feeling incredibly dry).
Similar dig to VR. If it's not there on launch, chances are it's going to not be welcomed even by the people who asked for it because it's not an original focus for that game.
On the flip side to this, I guess it's really hard to believe but people have different likes and dislikes, and it's really nice to just have one game out here that isn't a romance sim in disguise.
Every game out there has crammed in romance, whether it fits the game style or not. You can play any one of those.
Just give us one freaking game without it, please.
