We know it's possible to get online working. The question is whether or not anyone is actually playing it with these methods? It's possible to get on Battlefront 2 also and no one is ever playing that.

For multiplayer games with such positive reviews you'd think there would be an active multiplayer scene. I can't believe more people aren't down voting the game considering it literally has no single player aspect and no one plays either 1 or 2 online.

How do you even play these games then? Spend 10 bucks for nostalgia to load up single player for 30 seconds and then post a positive review? Seems like an utterly pointless purchase if there isn't active multiplayer servers.

Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005) has more players playing Online if thats what your asking

You can look at the server population at SWBFgamers.com - the list is on there if you are curious.
No, there aren't many people. It's never going to make it back to its former glory, but the possibility is there.

Thanks a lot for this link! This is great information. How do you tell which servers are for BF2 and BF1?

The only ones on that screen are for BF1. I have a basic setup for BF2 servers but didn't implement it. Most people are using the GOG BF2 patch - I don't have those listings readily available, just the SWBFGamers ones.

Gamespy was shut down a while ago which killed SWBF1 and 2 so they're both barely hanging on.

They're awful to play online anyways, it's always the same crappy maps or hero mode or full of grenade and rocket spam.

Just play the campaigns and skirmish.
