Battlefront is a series of 16 Conquest matches that take place during the Clone Wars & Rebellion. Your objective is to eliminate the enemy team and secure command posts. It does not follow a singular characters story, rather it has you play as droids, clones and rebels. There is the occasional appearance of a special character like a Jedi or Sith but you arent allowed to play as them. It has very brief narrative beats in between missions that closely follow the events of the movies even using scenes directly from the movies.

Honestly the game is very bare bones. It cant hold a candle to its successor which released only a year later. The lack of mission variety and inability to play as a Jedi, Sith or other hero is a major downside. Not to mention the very limited narrative thats just copy paste from the movies and doesnt add much to it.

It may be worth a playthrough if you just really like Conquest. The open battles can be fun with the different vehicles you can ride around in and some really fun troops like the Dark Trooper with its jetpack but for me it isnt enough. Id recommend just getting Battlefront II as its a massive improvement upon this game. Rated 5/10

The original and certainly the most defining version of the legendary Star Wars Battlefront series.

I own almost all versions. I skipped the 2015 remake.
It's this version, along with the STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II remake, which I keep returning to replay endlessly.
