The Trial/Demo version doesn't work with Family Sharing on.
I have a person that I have Family Sharing on with, they just bought the game with a buddy pass and we wanted to play. I downloaded the demo version from the store page but instead of the game launching as said demo the game launches as a family shared game, making it impossible for me to even launch if they have it on. Is there a way to fix that so I could actually play said demo and we could use the buddy pass?

Do you have multiple Wolfenstein: Youngblood entries in your library? There should be one clearly labeled as "Wolfenstein: Youngblood Demo".

I only have one, which is just Wolfenstein: Youngblood and it shows up as a shared game, I redownloaded the DEMO twice, making sure I'm actually getting the demo from store page but... It still comes up as a shared game after the download.

Yes, its not a "demo" thats just poor wording on their part, cuz a term doesnt exist yet for what it actually is. Someone needs to own it and invite you.

Well after disabling family sharing, redownloading etc, we still can't play as the game is being detected as not from my library, so I'm still starved for a solution myself.

I thougt i should be able to start the game, create an character and have to wait in the main menu for the invite, not that i need an invite to even start the game. i will try it, as soon as the download is ready (for the 4th time -.-)

I downloaded the demo but as others have said it only shows up as a shared game in my library. I was able to select my character and then join the lobby but then it kicked me out saying I couldn't play a shared game at that time. I heard linking Bethesda to Steam fixes this but can anyone confirm?

My fiancé and me had the same issue. The first time it wrote Wolfenstein Youngblood and was in my library, but after we disable the family sharing on both of our computers and restarted steam, we downloaded the game for her again and now it says Wolfenstein Youngblood Demo in her library. We’ll see if it works After the 5h. (No fiber for now) :lunar2019laughingpig::lunar2019laughingpig:
