1. Cast your buffs

4. Repeat step 1

Melee vs Ranged wich is better for techer?
Both, multi-weapon (2 weapons in 1 equipment) or weapon switching (swapping weapons in your scroll) is a game feature and even advised.

Wands are more popular than Talis afaik, there's probably a good reason for it.
Your attack stat is derived from tech potency, rather than melee or ranged, including your normal/physical attacks.

If you're talking about NGS,
Techer is a class built around Wand, Talis is just a vestigial design from PSO2. Talis has good ease of use and that's about it. Talis has better Element Down build but you can just cast Techs with Wand if you need to hit that Element Down ASAP.

Your core kit is to,
1. Cast Tech to Element Change to your target's weakness and follow into Skip Beat to Normal 4. Also function as a gap closer.
2. Attack with Wand until you build up Element Pursuit. Wave Crash is easy to use, Rapid Smash is complicated.
3. Use Element Pursuit and reset your Element Change. You want to Element Pursuit as often as possible.
4. Compound Tech/PB/Wand Lovers when necessary or off cooldown.
5. Normal 3 -> Normal 4 when possible after 2 PAs or Skip Beat.
6. You can just Normal 1234 during Wand Lovers. It's your strongest sustained DPS. Also makes your Normals block at their start.

As long as you maintain this while occasionally using Shifta Deband (There's no reason not to use it often) and Overemphasis, you're left with attack flow optimization and enemy specific strategies.

Never used that much on NGS, on PSO2 I found the only sane way of using it trough Deband, Shifta, and Wand Lover, everything else (including grants techs) is a waste of time and a nightmare to deal with "ultimate" enemies.

When a bad techer singles out their own lack of ability without realizing they're actually bad at techer.

As much as it pains me saying this.....thats pretty much it.

Unless youre talking about base PSO2 then you have much more work ahead.

in the most extreme loosest sense sure but there is a lot of optimization and depth involved beyond that.

Pursuit not even mentioned, into the trash it goes.

Only if youre a speedrunner. If not its really just that.

not even, because it fails to even mention the single most fundamental gameplay loop of wand, which is charging elemental pursuit and casting it. that's the very foundation of wand.

You have to realize, the vast majority of the remaining players barely do anything that isn't just holding down LMB or spamming a PA.

You think a techer that doesn't care about doing well is gonna do anything besides bonking?
