Hunter/Etoile is one of the biggest meme classes you can have because you are effectively invincible. The only way to die is to intentionally stand in areas that one-shot players (such as the big instant-kill fields that give you plenty of time to run away from in the Primordial Darkness fight).
The best class at outright "Facetanking" just about everything in the game really is the Hunter/Etoile.
Multiple people have explained it to you already.
Also, we weren't parroting.
1) The class combination was mentioned(X2dZ)
2) How the class combination functions/its perks were explained(myself)
3) Further confirmation on 1 and 2(VanillaLucia)
Parroting would just be a bunch of people saying "Go Hu/Et" in rapid succession, this is completely different.
Etoile as a class has a much higher learning curve than Hunter does, let alone Hunter subclassed with Etoile.
Strange, I actually found Etoile on its own to be easier, wand anyway, the sheer mobility, tankyness (op shield+iframes) CC and burst damage, just like some people find summoner better than hero classes, each to their own.
