So in my opinion, you are perfectly fine coming back. Don't listen to the doomsayers, there are plenty of people still playing with no issues (with many of them still being on PC).
If all else fails, you can still run the game with Gameguard still if you modify the settings to run in Security Compatibility Mode (this solution isn't permanent, I'm sure).
The anticheat did get blown out of porpotion but was it a doompost? No but i do agree that people who didn't have any idea about anticheat should have stayed not knowing. But in the past it did give issues and people were concerned which is understandable. However i don't really get why the players of this game are obsessed with "doomers" And "doom posting" From an outside view it looks like you are trying to cope.
Always listen to everyone and make your own opinion!
Well, it doubled the bans for this week. Typically it's around 900, now it's 1800. lol. Of course if you are one of the banned or for whatever incentive reason you are rooting for cheaters or rmt sellers, you do you.
Because its more invasive then GameGuard you genius.
Oh the humanity. People wanna claim everything is fine and then disprove themself in the same comment. Pure Gold as always.
Dunno. Is there a way we can find out how many of those people got banned for an false alert of the anti cheat ?
As said before Xigncode is more invasive then GameGuard. The biggest difference is that GameGuard doesnt care about your IP while Xigncode keeps track of it. Good luck playing on the JP server in the future.
The problem most people will high likely be bothered by is this:
* 0xE0191002 error : This error code occurs when XIGNCODE cannot process simultaneously with another unknown program. Please check if program such as
nProtect’s GameGuard and AhnLab’s HackShield are operating and proceed to turn them off before game launch to solve this error.
Are you playing another game while afk chatting in NGS Or waiting for your mates to arrive? Pray to god Xigncode doesnt collide with another anti cheat.
The reason why we currently dont have that many issues with Xigncode is because its known by now how to prevent them. So saying it was just doomposting is being dishonest. Just because we know how to avoid issues doesnt mean there are none. I avoided Corona completely. So there is no Corona right ? Same logic.
The twist was that what Sega was using isn't actually Wellbia Xigncode but rather Uncheat.
At least in my experience so far, GameGuard still hangs whenever I run in a populated exploration sector (such as South Aelio, Central Aelio, and even Leciel Exploration) where I end up in the very awkward position of being "solo-but-not-solo" and all of the interactables despawn, the enemies don't react, and the menus perpetually never work.
The new anti-cheat has actually resolved so much of this so for the first time since Stia's release, I have been able to "safely" play the game without being called a leecher because something happened on my end that kept me in a session but appearing as AFK on other screens (and that my only choice was to Alt+F4 which results in a system-wide crash that requires me restarting and potentially reinstalling the game anyways).
It doesn't do that lol. Before we got wellbia on to the game, I was testing a lot of things people were saying would trip xigncode3, and it simply wouldn't trip.
None whatsoever. It was just one big ole' nothing burger. The only issues thus far that have happened from what I saw are with steamdeck, but those have rather been fixed very quickly afaik.
There were concerns no doubt, and there were warranted, but a lot of the stuff that was brought up was from 5-6+ years ago, so a lot could/can have easily changed since then.
Sure, there was Blue Protocol being brought up which also uses wellbia xigncode3, but if I'm gonna be real with you, since the anti-cheat is very customizable, I don't know what Bandai Namco did, but they certainly set it to kill mode.
To be fair the community deserve the hate.
If someone points out legit flaws about the game, for example leechers and battle power overhaul.
Some people will completely ignore the problem and pretend that everything is working as intented.
Some of them will even blame you for being "anti social" without even realising that you are a member of the biggest guild in the server (facepalm).
What's sad is that SEGA actually listen to these type of players and instead of fixing the game, they pretend that there is no problem in the first place.
Doesnt change the fact Sega switched from bad to really bad. A downgrade is a downgrade ya know. When someone has the flue and someone with Corona is coughing at him you wont be like :" Dont worry its the same just a little more invasive."
Leechers being filtered out by Battle Power is 100% working as intended. There was a rampant problem with people going into emergency quests in base pso2 with 7* gear on Super Hard back in the day, at least with battle power requirements, the problem won't be as bad.
As for the other stuff.... I don't get the anti-social thing. I've never had anyone call me anti-social in game despite me never talking to anyone.
And it's true that sega doesn't need to fix battle power requirements, because it isn't a problem. Now if we're talking about other things, yeah, for sure.
