Best Gear?
I was hoping to see something on the forums here, especially after content updates, to keep things streamlined for returning or inactive players.

The topic is: what's the best gear at this time, both weapon series and armor.
Bonus would be: What augs are suggested, both for casual and hardcore grind (or cost), since these also change with update.

Is this tracked on some other fansite for quick reference?

It all depends. If you had already built your units, just use them, the gain from switching to a new unit type is not that high to be worth the cost to re-augment them.

If you have not built your units yet, then Ajax armour x 3, Neo Astraean weapon. Augments, no change from above unless you are very rich and can swap the Addi for a Halphanale.

Type in Google "Pso2 : NGS weapon" and after you find what you like the most type "Pso2 : NGS units".

Kaizar is still competitive in the game.
Until you get Gunzblazing or however the new top tier is called you can keep your kaizar.

Weapons:
Highest Raw Power: Gunblaze Series
Secondary Raw power: Kouklophis Series
Almost comparable to Kouklophis: Rugged Series
Most consistent damage: Obsidia Series with Fixa Fatale 3~5

All other 7-8 stars are significantly worse than the ones listed above.

Armor:
Raw Damage: Eclaireur Armor Series, +4% all damage, -5% damage resistance
"Comfiest" stats: Efitus Armor: Arga/Belta/Sheza +3% to two attack stats, 35 HP, 4 PP
Raw HP: Eptize Armor Vida, 3% All, +55 HP
Raw PP: Eptize Armor Vio. 3% All, +10 PP

Augments:
Base: Might IV, Precision IV, Technique IV
Gigas: Gigas Might IV, Gigas Precision IV, Gigas Technique IV
Soul:
- Melee: Frostyl Soul IV, Daityl Soul IV, Freid Soul IV
- Ranged: Crocys Soul IV, Pettas Soul IV, Doldor Soul IV
- Tech: Ams Soul IV, Nex Soul IV, Nils Soul IV
Extra:
- Mastery IV
- Addi Deftmeltech/Deftratech/Deftmelra
- Decold Might/Precision/Technique
Weaker/Budget:
- Triplble
- Super Might/Precision/Technique I
- Meltech/Ratech/Melra Duallble IV
- Addi Deftmel/Deftra/Deftech
- Any of the above augments marked at III

Highest Raw Power Augment Setup:
- Might/Precision/Technique IV
- Any Soul IV that fits your preferred stat spread
- Gigas IV that fits your primary attack stat
- Mastery IV if you're rich
- Addi Deftmelra/Deftratech/Deftmeltech, or any of the hybrid Addi Capsules(Spi, Staspi, etc)

Budget Power Augment Setup:
- (Attack Type) IV, Gigas (Attack Type) III
- Replace Mastery IV with Meltech/Ratech/Melra Duallble IV
- Addi Deftmel/Deftra/Deftech

All attack augment setup:
- Alts Secreta IV
- Mastery IV
- Eradi Soul IV
- Triplble
- Kvar/Stia Domina

Any other augment not mentioned is basically "preference". If you want to build HP or PP specifically, you'll be sacrificing a lot of damage for it, so i'll leave those unmentioned.

At the end of the day, gear only makes you hit harder and die less. If you don't understand your class, it doesn't matter how strong your gear is: you'll be doing significantly less than those that have weaker augments but a great grasp on how to play their class.

The budget augment setup can be obtained within several days of playing, or about ~5m meseta tops depending on ship.

Because I am quite tried of reviving these pure Damage types. You can’t do any Damage if you are knock the F out! They don’t seem to get that concept.
because in new genesis the higher your dps are the faster you swap the floor...i dont want to fight single Pettas Axe for half an hours i want swep the floor just in second KABOOMM BAM BAM 10 to kill but their more DOLLS join the party the Gigantix join the fun the Vateren coming this way and a lots of small dolls pop up....if u kill single Pettas Axe for half an hours that mean in few second u will be under the mountain of dolls and kiss the ground

Might be news to you but crit chances are super low, about 20% at best, totally unreliable and damage resistance is relatively useless too, you don't need it for the small mobs and the gigantix will put you into the ground if it catches you square with a move, DR or not, so it only matters in those normal swings of a gigantix, all the rest you need to i-frame out or simply not be in the way.

I prefer getting 6 minute Doldor and Nils runs instead of 20 minutes with bad players that crutch on damage resistance.

Anyone worth their salt can parry properly, and parrying properly makes damage resistance useless.

You can't do damage if you're dead, and you don't do enough damage if you don't build damage. If you have 30% potency, and the DPS guy has 93% potency, it'll only take a few seconds for the DPS guy to do more damage than you will after being revived.

If only we lived in your fairy tale world where 80% of the players weren't bad and using glass cannon setups. I can say with confidence it almost never goes like you're saying unless it's some bad ranger standing off across the map from danger.

TLDR; There are not many worth salt, glass cannon players die too much.

Raingnyu, Dec 2022. The guy who wants to flex with BP.

Guess that confirms Rain being a bad player who is in need of defenses. Defenses that aint needed because the i-frames NGS has are beyond this realm. I need to copy paste this real fast into my text files so each time Rain wants to flex with BP i can just copy paste this. Its pure gold.

You must have bad matchmaking luck, then, as i've been getting some solid 7-8 minute runs in Ship 2 as of late. Sometimes there's that terrible 15-20 minute ones, but for the most part, i've been getting lucky

As a ranger, I've to point out that keeping out of danger and pumping in Blights and DPS seems a smart way to go, so what's wrong with standing outside of a blast zone? The only time a ranger really needs to be in close are when he is using his spread shot or if he can't get a good angle for a shot.

Ranger needs to be in critical distance(orange target reticle) to maximize damage, which is typically in mid-range.

Ranger gets a minor damage boost at close range, and maximum boost at mid range. Long range/across the map is bad for ranger as it provides no damage boost.

Being in mid/close range also allows the ranger to weapon action dodge to refresh the trap mine cooldown as well.

Don't forget the exchange side of the equation, Rangers have a very bad case of animation lock whenever they use PAs so if the boss is something like Doldoris in his shooting mode, you won't be able to even let off a single PA without getting hit, so standing out of the immediate zone might give you more DPS instead as you spam PAs. Of course you can trap mine too but it all really depends on the danger level. Sometimes freedom from being hit allows you more DPS than having to interrupt yourself every few seconds to evade. It all depends on the situation.

During Doldoris' shooting mode in phase 2, you can just spam trap mines by constantly weapon action dodging through the bullets: you'll get significantly more DPS from that compared to anything else in Ranger's kit, barring consistent 10 hits of charged Razing Shot.

Using anything else on Doldoris, except maybe the homing shots on Ranger is... not a good idea.
