PSO2:NGS = Same Censorship as PSO2 Original Version

I guess we can expect same censorship in NGS as in the PSO2.

Character Creation show Height Limits to still be different than Japanese Version, if you try both you'll see the difference, same for some clothing.

Overall, same restriction have been applied as the Original game which is a bummer.

I won't be surprised if more Content get cut off in the Global Version of NGS. Like some cut-scene and even full character changes like they did in the Original PSO2 Global. Censorship all the way. But then again no one really care anymore.

Do not fetishize Japan. They have censorship and stupid laws too. Abe made laws to prevent people talking bad about him before his last election. Japan has it's own censorship issues.

Even so, there are certainly things that need to be banned. Society doesn't work if everything goes unchecked. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Freedom of expression has always, and will always have some guidelines. The rules are different in some countries. Japan is more restrictive than than the US in many ways.

Learn Japanese if you want. But they don't allow games like Saints Row or Cyberpunk to go uncensored there. Or Fallout. Sony censors not only sexual content, but also violent anime content.

The irony is Japan is more heavy handed with censorship than Europe or the USA. This is a country that actually censors it's own porn. this whole "based Japan doesn't care about your SJW sensibilities" attitude is painfully naive.

Most people who dislike SJWs are generally aware of Japan's censorship policies on pornography and oppose them. Another thing, There's a world of difference between those policies and the demands for censorship from the social justice crowd. Japan's porn censorship is more something that nobody really wants to enforce, but nobody's really going to step up just to abolish them.

Cross server/region play was never in the cards for several reasons, one of the big ones is due to all of the cross promotional stuff having alot of red tape and copyright issues. And then there's also the latency, the language barrier, the different updates schedules, etc.

People will just have to find a way to survive without being able to play as little kids. Lol

The average 13 yo girl's height is 157 cm - above the minimum height in global

As for japan they can make 11 yo girls (144cm) or even 7 yo girls (minisuits, 120 cm). But who cares.

I just find it funny that people assume the height limit prevents ppl from making childlike characters. It does not, so while it's no big deal that it exists, there's also no reason for it to exist, either.

While not fully directed towards the people who are complaining about censorship or to you, the silly thing is that the Japanese version also has censorship and controversies in the past also conveniently to do with Episode 4.

There is this as well. While I think you can use statistics from somewhere like the United States for the average age and focus on limits to that, I find it baffling that I cannot create a character matching my height because to others that's considered a "child" when there is so much variance in real life. The only real explanation I can think of for the height restriction is to normalize hitboxes and collision detection because it did turn out that having a very short character made it so specific photon arts from the Ranger (Sneak Shoot) could completely avoid most enemy swipes. But then the question also goes to me for asking why Global also has a maximum height restriction that is lower than what the Japanese version also allows - as though to exclude very tall characters. The only workaround around those that I know of is to legitimately play as a CAST who can skirt around some of those restrictions.

It'd be cool to see a mechanic like in Dragon's Dogma where your height and weight affect stats and other gameplay aspects.
But races don't even matter now so no chance of that happening. lol

We really need more things that define players/characters than just cosmetics tho.
