Orichalcum?

I am trying to find Orichalcum but I cannot find it anywhere. I already have a colbalt drill to mine it but I need some orichalcum. Does anyone have any advice for finding some?

The deeper you go the more likely it is. Also try smashing a bunch of altars to saturate the world.

To put it simply

more smashed altars = more ore around the world

But If I do that dont I get more hallow and corruption?

Breakin more altars spawns more ore in your world. However, it has a chance to spawn a block of Hallow/Corruption underground somewhere.

The easiest way to get hardmode ores in my opinion is by fishing. You can open crates in hardmode and get lots of ores/bars easily!

Whatever rod you can get!
The best rods are the Golden Fishing Rod, from Fishing Quests, the Sitting Duck's Pole, from the Travelling merchant for ~40 gold, and I believe the Mechanic's Rod, which is sold by the mechanic during certain conditions...?

Improve your chances to get crates with Crate Potions, the best Bait you can get, or even just fish during rain/full moons.

And it SHOULD just be a chance. Either 1/2 or 1/3.

I'd suggest the Mechanic's rod or the Sitting Duck's Pole

both aren't too hard to get and both work pretty well

(btw mechanic's rod is sold by her on crescent moons I think)
