Since we are allowed to choose either corruption or crimson, what is better than the other. I want to know based on treasure loot and mob difficulty. I'm just curious you know?

Corruption is easier, but many prefer crimson loot.

Normal mode? Crimson, a lot of its loot is slightly better than that from the Corruption.
Expert mode? Corruption: the Worm Scarf is an extremely valuable item and the special item from the brain is pretty underwhelming.

The corruption is easy in pre-hardmode because of the worm scarf in expert and less dangerous enemies/bosses. However, the chasms are deadly and the cursed flame debuff is weaker than the ichor in my opinion.
The crimson is better in hardmode, because of ichor, and it also safer chasms. However, the brain of cthulu (I hope I spelled it right) is harder and the brain of confusion is underpowered for expert mode.

How? Summoner has the least defense out of all the classes, and the Worm Scarf provides one of the highest defensive bonuses.

Honestly neither is 'better'. It's a matter of opinion, with some caveats. If you want to play as a mage for example, crimson asbsolutely sucks. Because the only mana boosting/recovery accessories straight up REQUIRE corruption. Depending on your preferences Corruption can very much be better than Crimson. The musket for example is definitely superior to the undertaker, it does over twice the damage per shot AND has autofire. Corruption also has vilethorn, which is amazing for early game up till early hardmode since it pierces infinite enemies and goes through walls.Crimson has the panic necklace which I personally consider practically useless in every stage of the game as it requires you to actually be hit in order for it to do anything. However, when it comes to endgame... The crimson has vampire knives. The only singular 'heal' item in the game. Vampire knives can possibly be one of the most useful items in the game since there's no other way to really heal that quickly IN combat.
