Portal Gun

Literally, I see no point at all why they added the portal gun. It has next to no use and even at end game, it kills you slowly by putting you in a completly different place.

I get that they were trying to put extra portal material in (Like the companian cube) but this is just dumb. Anyone agree?!?!

No. its an item designed to entertain the user, not to help. its supposed to open up a lot of adventure map opportunities and have an all around fun time



also it helps you get down hellevators faster

OMG that makes so much sense. The entertainment part. I guess it could help with hellevators.

the item alters your momentum in the sense that you can gain speeds faster than falling speed, using it in a hellevator greatly increases your speed

you can do something where you build a pillar and put a portal at the top and fall into one and you can get aroound the world really fast,

it can also be useful for co op expert moonlord having a portal taking you to a sepaate room with a nurse

true but i just love using portals, just fun and you have a portal back to the arena instead of flying back

It's fun for puzzle builds and it#s extremely useful for portal jumping at 178mph, enabling you to reach oceans on large maps in seconds.
(for reaching far away biomes quickly i use it on almost every build)

I would rather have a device that would let you open the map with M,click a spot on the map and then teleport there. Like the wormhole potion except you can go anywhere.

But a portal gun could work as well.. except not as well.

I honestly do agree. Especially when you consider that the damn gun has a rather short distance that you can go before the portals despawn. furthermore you have to be able to reach the spot you're putting the portals to, which makes it relatively useless outside of relocating NPCs. And the despawning distance...have Relogic people never finished portal 2? FFS. There should be NO distance limit WHATSOEVER. So regarding it being 'entertainment', an item with this kind of lack of usefulness does not belong as a drop from the final boss of the game. That is ridiculous. If the portals had infinite range and were permanent until you left, then it would be incredibly useful. But in it's current state? Garbage.
