Eternal Return

Numbers of players
SteamDB says there are around 8k of players on the game right now, yet I still only go up against teams of bots. Are they all on asian servers or something?

I expected more. Isn't that their main target audience?

Which kinda sucks, since for me, Eternal Return seems like the only game that combines Moba with BR elements without it being a straight Fortnite clone like Battlerite Royale or Supervive.

Well for one as understand it cause it's been awhile since I was new, maybe have to check that;

If you're new the game your first couple/several/dozens of games will be vs bots or other newbies. Now I don't know the number you need to stop being put into these bot games which is why I listed it like that, but part of the problem is that because we don't have many new/low level/ranked players, game probably fills them in with bots so if you're new, you're probably seeing a bunch of them.

The flip side of that; I usually will see one or two bot teams. They're kinda easy to spot with odd names that might have been in style awhile go, and running fortification augments. The ENTIRE team of them.

It's a hassle to be sure. Other games like Fortnight do the same but due to having a larger player to bot ratio it's not that much of an issue. Here though, it can be a bit of of one.

I feel like the game should just be honest about it and put something like "[BOT]" next to the name so that you know for certain you're up against bots and not real people. Either don't have bots, or be honest about it if you do.

Sorry I'm speaking as if I've played recently - for context I haven't really played since the game first came to steam years ago.

Bots were a thing back then just two things;

1) We had a lot more players to cover for them. In fact back in the day I think they hid them as 'test subjects' rather than giving them fake names, to mix them up with new players or those that took the option to hide their names.

2) I'm not sure they went this hard on bots before.

I do agree they could be honest about them.
90% are in asia
9% in NA
And 1% SA

0,1% are players from EU. That's one of the 2 reasons i am not playing this game. No players and no solo/duo que.
