About the drop being in regards to a beta server stealing a portion of Koreas population, and said beta server being shutdown, why hasn't the games overall population recovered at a reasonably similar percentage? Is that server still open?
I personally have introduced a handful of friends to this game and we all still play it together. We all enjoy the game and prepping for ranked squads (tho would be cool to have 4s), however we all also play other games as well, so when you see numbers on Steam of a lower value than previous weeks and you're comparing such things, consider that gamers... play other games too. Go figure. Doesn't mean a game as well designed as this one, whether you agree or not, is going anywhere.
You want to see more players? Introduce the game to others instead of bashing numbers you know nothing about in forums for no reason. Makes no sense. Zero logic. Absolutely no understanding of how a free game in it's early access phase has such potential and is slowly making it's way every single day.
The game is growing pretty slowly, I think it is a very valid concern of it's playerbase to ask questions like this. I never said it was dying, and I do enjoy the game; So I do not want it to die lol.
I am glad that there is a dev in here engaging with the community and posting the developer statistics. It's pretty rare to see that, even for a small game.
I personally, really like my games. So I spend a lot of money on cosmetics and other random crap like that. I do not want to spend a bunch of money on a game that is going to be around for about a year before it is forced to shut down.
With all that said, I do not want the game to shut down, I do really like the game despite the balancing flaws.
If the game keeps steadily climbing without a mess up, it should hold itself stable until a big streamer plays it.
Watch the population explode if someone as big as imaqtpie (or similarly sized streamer) plays it.
Can you extend ranked hours for NA duos, maybe 1-3 more hours before the start time of 8PM CST? I play with an EST friend and its 9pm-1am for him. Its the last few days for the ranked season and I'd like to try to push for plat
Either way, it's ok if a character is OP, much like in DotA, simply learn to adapt. I do however stand by my comment about restricting new champs from ranked play until balance updates are implemented; however, not always is a balance necessary. Even tho OP characters in games can be frustrating to play against, there is usually always some kind of weakness. In those regards, it keeps things interesting and allows the player base to continually think of new fundamentals instead of repeating the same builds every single game which IMO can become boring.
Not everything can always be balanced completely, taking advantage and learning of a characters weakness keeps us thinking about the game in different ways. As some say in lots of games how one character can be weak, yet there is always that one player who can always make them look good because they simply know how to play them or look at the characters in a different way.
It's also hard to balance a character so immediately because new builds are always changing things. Hence, a ranked restriction for new characters until the player base kind of irons that out and a correct influx of balance changes can be made with better accuracy and consistency without completely ruining the character or the game.
I'm sure being a dev and a game designer is hard and finding the right tweaks to design something that is both partly desired and frustrating to play against whilst not completely taking a character out of the "meta" can be a difficult thing to accomplish.
The main reason I made this post was because I wanted to rant about how annoying Bernice was.
I still think he is frustrating after his "nerf". I don't think someone with as much range and CC as he has, should be able to walk as fast as he does.
I guess the only tactic for now (on future OP releases) shall be avoid the character or avoid ranked queue until further patches I suppose. Or as they say in League, abuse and climb lol
You want 2 seconds of invulnerability you better be prepared to pay the price of 4 additional seconds to operate the hyperloop. At least you play hyejin and if you're not dead in the first second you can blink away. Many other characters don't have that luxury
Is just a suggestion. Hyejin is like a paper at early game, even others without equip can ♥♥♥♥ her.
and as i said, would be nice to implement something like teleporting not close to enemies (maybe 10 or 15 feets at least).
